Summary
#LI-Onsite
This position is located in Cambridge, MA.
The Pharmacokinetic Sciences (PKS) Department within the Novartis Biomedical Research Division (BR) in Cambridge, Massachusetts is looking for a laboratory-based biotransformation scientist with experience in metabolite identification and profiling to join their global biotransformation team with groups in Europe and North America.
As a biotransformation scientist, you will develop state-of-the-art analytical methodologies using ultra/high performance liquid chromatography (U/HPLC) coupled with high resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) to identify metabolites and elucidate biotransformation pathways from complex biologic matrices. This role will require you to be familiar with various in vitro enzymatic systems used in drug metabolism biotransformation studies as well as extraction procedures such as protein precipitation, liquid/liquid extraction (LLE), and solid phase extraction (SPE). In addition, you will be familiar with mass spectrometry fragmentation interpretation, structural elucidation, and data processing requirements needed to characterize metabolites of small molecules. Experience with the biotransformation of peptides, oligonucleotides, and/or intact proteins would be considered highly advantageous.
