Summary
The Facilities Engineer is responsible for operating, maintaining and improving the site building and utility infrastructure. Overall responsibility for the reliable operation, integration, modification, maintenance, and retirement of site utilities and as well as continued efficient operation of general site functions and site services. Additionally supports current project operations, including oversight of construction activities, contractors, and site goal objectives and ensures compliance with regulatory, corporate, and site requirements related to their functional area. This role will support both the RLT and Isotope facilities.

About the Role
Major accountabilities:
- Safety is the top priority. Adherence to all safety requirements, all of the time.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC system design, operation and maintenance
- Experience and familiarity with air compressors, pumps, chillers, cooling towers, water systems, electrical equipment, generators, fire systems, and associated equipment and systems
- Working knowledge of automation systems, VFD's, etc.
- Utilize CMMS systems such as BMRAM to manage all work orders.
- Ensures reliable, efficient and sustained operation of the facility and all utility equipment. Drive / improve (infrastructure, utilities), availability, reliability and efficiency
- Develop Preventive Maintenance plans for areas of responsibility
- Execute PM's and corrective work orders in areas of responsibility
- Onboard and develop relationships with external contractors and vendors
- Develop Standard Operating procedures (SOP's) for areas of responsibility
- Troubleshoot and establish root cause for failures and underperformance of utility equipment.
- Develop and execute plans for correcting issues based on root cause analysis.
- Support current and future facility capital projects and site goal objectives, including installation, commissioning and turnover of new equipment and systems
- Lead and coordinate site shutdowns and general repair of utilities through small projects.
- Manages contractors for maintenance, repairs and small projects.
- Drive improvement for facility and utility KPI's.
- Supports other Engineering and maintenance initiatives or programs as required.
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $84,000 and $126,000 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field or equivalent experience is required.
- 2+ years of industrial experience is required (GMP Biotech/biopharma industry preferred) w/ Bachelor's degree; 5+ years of experience is required (GMP Biotech/biopharma industry preferred) in lieu of a degree.
- Ability to prepare contingency plans and logically work through complex issues in a pressure filled atmosphere.
- Demonstrated ability to work and collaborate on cross functional teams in a fast paced, dynamic team setting.
- Experience in managing small capital projects (< $75K) is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- A "can do" attitude and a willingness to do what it takes to achieve personal and organizational goals and overcome obstacles.
- Knowledgeable of OSHA requirements.
- Knowledgeable of Environmental regulations
- Energy management experience is a plus
- EPA universal certification is a plus.
- Previous experience working in a GMP environment preferred
- Familiarity with change controls, CAPA's, and deviations preferred
- Planning, problem analysis, and decision-making skills.
- Strong computer skill utilizing MS Office suite applications, Building Management Systems, and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Customer service focused.
- Ability to adapt in a constantly evolving environment.
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership in areas of responsibility.
