About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and execute impactful communication strategies aligned with business priorities
  • Craft compelling content across various platforms, including press releases and social media
  • Build and nurture relationships with patient advocacy groups to enhance access and understanding
  • Integrate patient perspectives into strategic planning processes
  • Coordinate patient engagement activities, ensuring meaningful involvement in key initiatives
  • Guide Novartis employees on patient communication best practices and ethical standards
  • Manage agencies and campaign budgets to achieve outstanding results
  • Analyze and measure the effectiveness of communication and advocacy efforts

Essential Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in-house or agency settings
  • Degree in Communications, Marketing, PR, or related field with medical background
  • Proven track record developing strategic communication plans in complex environments as well as expertise in patient advocacy principles, best practices, and regulatory considerations
  • Exceptional written and verbal skills, able to translate complex scientific concepts paired with strong relationship-building abilities with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficiency in digital channels and social media for patient engagement
  • Analytical mindset to measure and improve communication impact, adaptable problem-solver with a proactive, curious approach to challenges
  • Fluency in German and English (written and spoken)

In addition to a market-competitive base salary, we offer an attractive incentive program, a modern company pension scheme, childcare facilities, learning and development opportunities as well as worldwide career possibilities within the Novartis group. In accordance with Austrian law, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary as stated in the collective bargaining agreement. For this position the minimum salary is € 38.038/year (on a full-time basis). In most cases, the actual salary will be higher, as we strive to maintain a competitive position in the market and consider your previous experience, qualifications and individual competencies. We are open for part-time and job-sharing models and support flexible and remote working where possible.
