Job Description

Develops, implements, and monitors hospital and safety management programs for multiple sites. Ensures site compliance to federal, state and local regulations and accreditation standards.


Job Responsibility


  • Monitors hospital and safety management programs based on evaluation of organizational expertise, applicable laws, regulations, and accepted practice; ensures compliance to federal, state and local requirements.

  • Manages the ongoing process to identify deficiencies and opportunities for improvement in environment of care management programs.

  • Submits reports for hospital administration and outside regulatory agencies as required.

  • Consults with management and staff on a wide variety of safety issues, policies, and concerns including waste management, hazardous material control, and security issues.

  • Monitors effectiveness of safety committee recommendations; maintains safety manuals as required.

  • Acts as safety educator: develops and conducts training programs covering all areas associated with site safety, i.e., facility environment, disaster preparedness, emergency preparedness, and new programs or regulations.

  • Responds to and examines safety concerns/issues.

  • Oversees compliance with certification aspects associated with regulatory agencies.

  • Coordinates safety inspections in accordance with applicable laws and organization policy.

  • Operates under general guidance and work assignments are varied and require interpretation and independent decisions on course of action.

  • Job Qualification


    • Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.

    • 1-3 years of relevant experience, required.
