Job Description
Manages, plans, organizes, and evaluates tertiary hospital infection prevention and control related activities and staff. Supports the leadership in implementing related initiatives to improve patient safety.
Job Responsibility
- Provides leadership to Infection Prevention team members and supervisors by communicating and guiding toward achieving department objectives.
- Develops, communicates, and builds consensus for goals in alignment with the health system.
- Ensures implementation and evaluation of hospital's infection prevention goals, objectives, plans, policies, and procedures.
- Selects, develops, manages, and evaluates staff; prioritizes, schedules, assigns, and monitors work to optimize operational service.

Job Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology, Medical Technology, Public Health, Nursing or related field, required.
- Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State, preferred.
- Current certification by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC) within two (2) years of entry date into position.
- 6-8 years of relevant experience, required and 2-5 years of leadership/management experience, required.
- At least 3 years of infection prevention experience, preferred
