Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) is currently seeking a Vehicle Engineering Assistant Department Manager in the South Bay Los Angeles area. The position is located in El Segundo, California.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Director and Department Managers for the Vehicle Engineering South Bay organization. The selected individual will perform the following job duties including but not limited to:
Support staffing and recruiting efforts
* Participate in Independent Review Teams, Staffing Review Boards, Basis of Estimate reviews, and other various programmatic initiatives.
* Support Sector Vehicle Engineering initiatives on behalf of the directorate.
* Provide technical operations support to the Director and Department Managers

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 9 years combined Aerospace Industry experience, demonstrating the ability to plan, estimate, organize, integrate, and lead technical activities OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 7 years combined Aerospace Industry experience, demonstrating the ability to plan, estimate, organize, integrate, and lead technical activities
* Must have an Active DoD Secret Clearance
* Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) or PAR/SCI clearance within a reasonable amount of time, as determined by business needs
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
* Program Access
* Experience in vehicle engineering
* Proven history of leadership
* Experience interfacing with industry customers
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to collaborate within a team and across team environments
* Ability to prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish project results
* Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and/or accomplishing them simultaneously
* Ability to comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions
* Ability to lead an engineering or cross-functional team
Salary Range: $187,000 - $280,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
