Directing and monitoring the activities within multiple storerooms and efficiently utilizing space and equipment within storerooms and storage areas to meet established priorities and completion dates.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT:
Hand trucks, forklifts, walking and riding type stackers, pendant operated bridge cranes, computer terminals, scales, bins, racks, storage carousels; hand tools such as hammers, pliers, files, wire cutters, crowbar, tape measures, and banding equipment.

THE FOLLOWING ARE THE USUAL MAJOR JOB DUTIES BUT THIS JOB DESCRIPTION DOES NOT PRECLUDE THE PERFORMANCE OF OTHER DUTIES BY THE INCUMBENT, NOR THE QUESTION BEING RAISED ON THE PROPER RATE OF PAY FOR THE ASSIGNMENT.
1. Ability to handle various types of material to include ferrous and non-ferrous materials, finished and purchased parts, tools and supplies, bulk oils, paints, explosives, bottled gases and containers, etc.
2. Receive work assignment and instructions from supervision.
3. Follow proper systems, procedures and methods for handling and storing materials.
4. Identify and process materials with visual damage, poor condition, improper packaging or storage.
5. Insure compliance with established safety rules and material handling and storage procedures.
6. Perform work of equal or lower skill as required.
This is a Union Represented position. Basic Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent GED.

A minimum of 3 years of experience in material handling, warehouse operations, or inventory management within an industrial or manufacturing environment.

A minimum of 3 years of experience operating material handling equipment, such as forklifts, overhead cranes, and pallet jacks.

A minimum of 3 years of experience in spare parts inventory management.

A minimum of 3 years of experience managing storerooms and coordinating storage space to optimize efficiency and meet operational priorities.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

A minimum of 3 years of experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and software for tracking, receiving, and issuing spare parts.

A minimum of 3 years of experience with visual damage assessment and proper handling of various materials, hazardous goods, and machine components.

A minimum of 3 years of experience with material storage safety protocols and OSHA regulations.

US citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

7 years of experience in material handling and warehouse operations, specifically in aerospace, defense, or heavy industrial environments.

Previous work experience overseeing a spare parts warehouse, ensuring 100% adherence to just-in-time (JIT) and lean inventory principles.

Previous work experience with automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS), storage carousels, and barcode scanning technology to enhance inventory tracking efficiency.

Previous work experience in forecasting spare parts needs, reducing stock outs that cause unplanned downtime due to part unavailability.

* Previous work experience working with government contracts and regulations regarding material handling and spare parts inventory in a secure facility.
