Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an Electronics Technician (Maintenance) to join its team within the Mission Systems Organization. This position is located in Linthicum, Maryland.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Install, maintain, diagnose malfunctions and repair all electrical circuitry and multiple function electronic control units found on all types of industrial machinery and equipment, utilizing the latest state-of-the-art techniques.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT:
All tools and equipment outlined for lower classified electricians and in addition such items as: tube checker, voltmeter, oscilloscope, brush recorder, capacitance and inductance, bridges, gain meter, MCV-500 Compact Linear Calibration System, Laptop, Drantz, Dranview, DranoLink, etc; required safety equipment.
MATERIAL:
All materials outlined for lower classified electricians and in addition such items as: programming consoles for machine tools and sheet metal fabricating equipment; elevators; communication equipment; electronic controls on spotwelders, heat treat furnaces, boilers, induction heating machine, electronic coil winding counters; and all other electronic positioning, switching and regulating devises used in conjunction with industrial equipment.
DIRECTION OF OTHERS:
Guide and assist lower classified electricians as required.
WORKING PROCEDURE:
The following are the usual major job duties but this job description does not preclude the performance of other duties by the incumbent, nor the question being raised on the proper rate of pay for the assignment.
1. Obtain work orders and such information as one or more of the following: drawings, sketches, wiring diagrams, schematics, manufacturer's specifications and catalogs and oral and written instructions. Verify information and materials and report discrepancies to supervision.
2. Install, diagnose nature of malfunctions and repair all electrical circuitry and relaying devices found primarily on such equipment as elevators, intercommunications equipment and sheet metal fabricating equipment. diagnose malfunctions on numerically controlled production machines involving solid state circuitry and electronic components such as transistors, integrated circuits, diodes, capacitor rectifiers and the like. Isolate defective unit and replace.
3. Install, diagnose malfunctions and repair multiple function electronic control units on all types of industrial machinery and equipment such as spotwelders, heat treat furnaces, boilers and electronic coil winding counters and the like. Isolate defective unit and replace.
4. Install and take Drantz readings on power equipment.
5. Set up and laser align equipment.
6. Coordinate maintenance operation of the power distribution.
7. Advise engineers of data results as required. Work with engineer in making design change.
8. Maintain primary records and log on equipment performance and repairs.
9. Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition.
This is an IBEW Union represented position.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
High School graduate or recognized equivalent.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:*
Must pass formal, structured interview.
