JOB STATEMENT/SUMMARY
Verify and maintain records on incoming and outgoing shipments. Prepares merchandise or material for shipment, including packing and securing, addressing, and stamping. Determines parcel post and additional charges, stamps mailing information on cartons or boxes, packs orders, fills orders and performs such duties as receiving merchandise, loading, and unloading trucks, inventories parts and places stock in storage. This is an appointed and protected position.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Receive and enter information into MRP (Material Resource Planning) tool based on shipper's

* documentation to verify accuracy.

* At Plymouth 4700 facility, interpret documentation outlining routing of merchandise, refers to

* transportation guidance to understand or recommend routing of merchandise. Requires DoT training.

* Evaluates shipping forms and sends appropriate copies to designated departments.

* May provide assistance or clarification in determining Parcel Post charges and additional charges such as insurance, special delivery, special handling, and air mail.

* Package and control special shipments per Company policies and procedures (may be classified,

* sensitive, hazardous, and/or DOT packed energetic material pack).

* Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using hand tools, power tools, or postage meter.

* Ensure correct method of shipment occurs by following Company procedures and requirements.

* Examines shipment packing and checks for damage and documents findings.

* Confer or correspond with appropriate personnel to rectify problems such as damage and shortages.

* May deliver or route materials to departments using hand truck or cart.

* May requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.

* Performs other duties as receiving merchandise loading and unloading trucks, may inventory parts and places stock in storage as appropriate based on facility.

* Oversee general housekeeping of work area.

* Account for materials and supplies coming into or going out of area.

* At Plymouth 4700 facility, contact dispatch to make arrangements for shipping and delivery of materials.

* At Elk River facility, ability to drive a fork truck.

* At Plymouth Cheshire facility, drive walk behind lift for racking.

* Follow all company safety, security, DOT, and QMS procedures.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

US Citizenship

* At Plymouth facilities, must be able to acquire an active DOD security clearance of secret and meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information, including US citizenship.

* High school diploma or equivalent.

* 1-2 years prior related experience.

* Forklift driving experience preferred.

* Basic math and counting skills.

* Data entry.

* Computer proficient in MS Office and inventory management software (fed-x, UPS, label master software and stencil wheels), CostPoint, Kronos, e-mail, and Excel preferred

* Used tools such as taping and banding machines, postage meters, staple guns, and hand trucks.

COMPETENCIES

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Typical warehouse conditions.

* Must use proper PPE and ESD approved clothing or devices

* Must be able to drive power equipment where applicable

* Handles classified, sensitive, hazardous, and/or DOT packaged energetic material as appropriate.

* Drive power equipment where applicable.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS

Push and pull loaded hand trucks or carts.

* Lift up to 50 pounds regularly and unassisted.

* Ability to climb ladder or stool while carrying packages.

* Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.

* Moving heavy equipment and carts sometimes weighing as much as 200-500 lbs.
