Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems Strike Division has an opening for a Product Trainer OR Principal Product Trainer (Training Courseware Developer) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.

This position can be filled at a Level 02 or Level 03.
Plans, develops, and coordinates in-house product training programs for field support personnel and customers. Obtains information needed to prepare in-house training programs; prepares training materials; develops course content; determines methodology; and coordinates the development of training aids. Conducts training sessions and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. May utilize trainers with technical expertise. Continuously revises lesson plans to meet new training requirements and to keep technical information up to date.
The selected candidate will establish, develop, and implement training system requirements for training system courseware in support of the overall Training System.
Essential Functions:
- Develop training requirements and courseware
- Organize, develop, and write course content and course materials into digital platforms
- Author computer-based training derived from lesson deign documents and/or storyboards
- Research and apply emerging technologies into content development
- Ability to design and display visual information
- Ability to read and interpret aircraft technical data and associated drawings.
- Work closely with engineers, subject matter experts, graphic artists, and external customers for completion of training materials
- Responsible for overseeing modifications and requirements development to keep the training system materials concurrent with the actual platform
- Preparation of briefings for management and developing mechanisms for monitoring project progress and tools for intervention/problem solving.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required, as well as strong organizational skills and an ability to work in a deadline-oriented environment
The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels. Candidate must be comfortable in both an office and lab environment and be able to work closely with system engineers, hardware designers, and integration/test engineers.
Basic Qualifications for Product Trainer:
Bachelor's Degree and 3 years' experience with training syllabus and courseware development OR Master's Degree with 1 year of experience.
* Experience with authoring inside of an LMS and/or LCMS.
* Experience authoring computer-based training with interactive elements including:
* Gamified Learning Events
* Virtual Interactive Practices
* Scenario Branching
* Multimedia
* Audio
* Video
* Graphics
* Animations
* Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance.
* The ability to obtain and maintain restricted program access.
Basic Qualifications for Principal Product Trainer:
Bachelor's Degree and 6 years' experience with training syllabus and courseware development OR Master's Degree with 4 years of experience.
* Experience with authoring inside of an LMS and/or LCMS.
* Experience authoring computer-based training with interactive elements including:
* Gamified Learning Events
* Virtual Interactive Practices
* Scenario Branching
* Multimedia
* Audio
* Video
* Graphics
* Animations
* Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance.
* The ability to obtain and maintain restricted program access.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in STEM field.
* Experienced military rated aircrew or aircraft maintainer.
* Experienced military aircrew or maintenance Instructor.
* Experience in learning processes, curriculum development, training evaluations, and training systems products such as IMDP & TPSD documents.
* Strong organizational skills tailored toward deadline-oriented environment.
* Excellent communication/interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
* Experience with Air Force Instructional Systems Development (ISD) process.
* Experience in military aircrew or maintenance training course design, development, and sustainment.
* Experience in military training techniques and instruction methods.
* An active in-scope DoD Top Secret clearance.
Salary Range: $56,600 - $85,000
Salary Range 2: $69,600 - $104,400
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
