Overview
Reporting to the Test Engineering Manager, the Test Inspection Supervisor will have responsibility for the technical and operational execution of tests, as well as safety, quality, cost, and schedule. The role will lead the Test Technician team and work closely with, the manufacturing team, program leadership, engineering teams, technical leaders, and functional subject matter experts within the Deployables Operating Unit.
Role and Responsibilities:
Lead tests activities of deployable systems for spacecraft such as solar arrays, instrument booms, extendible support structures, and reflector boom antennas/deployable booms/masts
* Provide overall supervision and guidance of Test Technician team by setting goals and objectives
* Mentor and coach a team of technicians across high-paced deployable programs
Oversee test lab equipment including load frames, thermal equipment, RF equipment, metrology equipment, tooling, and other raw materials
* Engage on manufacturing floor and in work activities to provide direct support as needed while additionally coaching and mentoring personnel in testing methods and procedures
* Provide performance reviews and periodic feedback for all direct reports
* Participate in test planning and test readiness reviews
* Assist in meeting or exceeding the Safety, Quality, Employee, Delivery and Cost expectations for internal and external customers and within the Test Technician group
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline with 5 years working in a testing environment; OR 3 years with a master's degree in engineering; an additional four years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
* Minimum of 5 years in the static and dynamic structural test field
* Demonstrated leadership experience managing a technical team including employee career development, engagement, and performance management
* US Citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of precision test equipment with functions including thermal, materials, PIM (Passive Intermodulation), and metrology testing services
* Workforce planning and budgeting experience
* Knowledge of engineering GD&T principles
Salary Range: *$97,600 - $146,400
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
