As an integral part of our multi-discipline engineering team in Advanced Weapons, you will be the Staff, System Integration, Test & Evaluation (SIT&E) IPT Lead for our SiAW Program. As IPTL, you will be responsible for providing technical and operational leadership to the cross-functional organization across every aspect of day-to-day execution.
The individual, as part of the program leadership team, will have responsibility to assist in guiding all program activities related to design, development, and testing by focusing on delivering solutions, removing roadblocks, simplifying large, complex problems, and anticipating Customer needs to free up engineers to focus their time and attention on the technical problems they are best equipped to solve.
This position requires a combination of project management, process optimization, technical proficiency and execution skills. This role will drive communications and operations for the SIT&E team to keep the team informed and motivated, while prioritizing and supporting a healthy culture.
The SIT&E IPT Lead serves an integral role in cultivating the Customer relationship, actively managing team requirements, and fostering program and team culture. The position requires a high degree of collaboration skills with the ability to provide insight into the status of multiple efforts at various levels of leadership. This role will be a trusted advisor and thought partner to design leadership in crafting the strategy, vision and detailed plan to verify/qualify the system.
The individual will be instrumental in fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence through mentorship, coaching, and influence.
Roles and Responsibilities:

Ensures that the program is adhering to sound engineering processes in development and test for our customers and is compliant with company policy, procedures, and quality standards.

Maintains cognizance over technical activities within program Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and ensures horizontal integration of the best engineering practices across the company

Collaborates with the customer to define the flight test program to include provision of information needed to obtain airworthiness clearance for the missile on the test aircraft, test plans, telemetry visualization requirements, and on-site support for ground checkout and test flight execution

Provides oversight of Hardware/software engineering STE development.

Develops the test benches to satisfy derived verification requirements.

Manages the test benches to support system integration.

Performs test variant and tactical missile verification and validation test activities.

Collaborates with Systems Engineering to determine the plan and detailed definition of the system verification activities.

Identify potential risks and opportunities that could impact program performance and take proactive action to resolve issues regarding cost and schedule

Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customer counterparts.

Communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings at technical and program reviews and boards.

Basic Qualifications: Level 5

Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) with 12+ years of systems & test experience OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 10+ years of systems & test experience

3+ years of leadership experience with a history of people management.

Management of test benches for systems engineering and verification

Experience with test aircraft, test plans, telemetry visualization requirements, and on-site support for ground checkout and test flight execution

Experience in leading a high-paced product development team across multiple locations and time zones, and effectively react to changes in Customer prioritization

Meticulous attention to detail, including holding tightly to your team's vision and maintaining a high product quality bar.

Current Active Government Secret security clearance adjudicated within the past 5 years

Preferred Qualifications:


Prior leadership experience in IPT or SEIT Lead roles or equivalent

Ability to monitor hardware and software design teams with critical insight to know when the teams are not on path to successful implementation and then be able help steer the team to a successful solution.

Deep systems background defining and executing cost and schedule optimal T&E campaigns to support system verification.

Willingness and enthusiasm to do what it takes to get things done, leading by example and getting involved with the team's day-to-day work.

Experience building and fostering a robust, collaborative, inclusive team environment

High emotional intelligence and the ability to adapt your communication and operational style situationally

Experience working directly with product and engineering on ambiguous problems and crafting big picture strategies

Ability to establish credibility and rapport with senior leadership

Current Government Top Secret security clearance.

Salary Range: $155,500.00 - $233,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
