The Digital Products Department (part of NG Strategic Space Systems) in Manhattan Beach, CA is seeking a talented Staff Engineer Digital. This person will be required to (but not limited to) develop, test, and integrate complex digital hardware and support test systems for spacecraft flight programs. In addition, system and unit verification experience is desired for the candidate to perform adequately in programs.

As part of this team, you will have the opportunity to leverage your knowledge and expertise to:
• Develop Conceptual Designs
• Create Circuit Designs and analysis
• Develop unit level Architecture, manufacturing, assembly and test
• Unit level verification
• Coding in VHDL
• Design Verification
• Requirements development
• Lead an IPT or a team in a technical program environment and manage schedule and budget
We also provide opportunities to support other areas of interest within digital engineering as they become available.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) field, 12+ years of relevant experience in digital engineering or Master's degree in STEM field with 10+ years of relevant experience in digital engineering or 8+ years of relevant experience in digital engineering with PhD
* Must also have experience in the following areas
Circuit design and analysis
Digital communications
Digital signal processing
Network routing and/or switching applications
Embedded processors
Unit level verification experience of digital hardware for Aerospace application
Digital board design, digital board/unit verification
Experience in working in an engineering environment dealing with design, manufacturing and hardware troubleshooting
Experience in digital engineering analysis such as Power Distribution, Timing, interface compatibility, signal integrity and derating/stress
Experience in hands on lab experience such as test labs working on test requirements, environmental test definitions
Experience in different stages of design reviews
• The ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance and/or program access
• Experience in working in a team environment
• Excellent communication and writing skills
• Experience leading a group of teams or IPT in a technical program environment, working with the current and forecasted budget and schedule
Preferred Qualifications:
• STEM Master's degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering field
• In addition to basic qualifications, the following experience would be a plus:
• Hands-on lab experience is highly desired.
• Experience with FPGA design
• Experience in parts selection and managing parts procurement
• 7+ years of design engineering experience listed above in Space Flight hardware or programs.

Salary Range: $188,200 - $282,200
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
