Northrop Grumman Missions Systems, Microelectronics Center is looking to hire an Engineer Supplier Quality either a level 3 or 4, depending on experience, to develop and lead a Supplier Performance Management process within the Microelectronics Center (MC). As an Engineer Supplier Quality for the MC, you will support the Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) Foundry, the Space Park Foundry, and various Microelectronics Design and Application (MDA) programs. This individual will report into the Global Supply Chain (GSC) Risk and Opportunity Manager for the NGMC.
This position is located in Linthicum, MD, hybrid may be considered but not guaranteed.
This role is part of the GSC team and will be challenged to resolve issues and implement solutions, in a fast-paced environment - including process improvements, tools, metrics, data integration, and coordination and collaboration with key cross-functional stakeholders across the MC. The successful candidate will hold strong leadership skills, excellent oral and written skills, and an aptitude for DoD contracting requirements.
The Engineer Supplier Quality responsibilities will encompass but are not limited to:
Develops and implements supplier quality evaluation and control systems.
* Assures supplier process and product quality, including contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance.
* Interfaces directly with supplier personnel and must be knowledgeable in and capable of assessing both supplier quality and manufacturing processes and procedures.
* Conducts product and process verification activities, monitors supplier quality performance, and drives root cause corrective action analysis for supplier quality issues.
* Supports the maintenance of the approved supplier list and periodically reviews supplier performance to determine whether suppliers should remain on the approved list.
* Manages supplier requests for waivers, deviations and discrepancy reporting process. Keeps management apprised of supplier performance, quality status, and risks.
* Coordinates and oversees Supplier Quality plan implementation through all program phases.
* Actively engages in supplier evaluation, qualification and selection as part of the Business Acquisition Process (BAP) and as new procurements are required on existing programs.
* Manages implementation of Supplier Quality processes, including supplier approval activities, source selection evaluations, supplier classification designation (Critical, Key and Standard), development and execution of supplier quality risk assessments and mitigation plans, and supplier quality requirements development and flow-downs.
* Travel up to 25%
This requisition may be filled as a Principal Engineer Supplier Quality or Sr. Principal Engineer Supplier.
Basic Qualifications:
Principal Engineer Supplier Quality (Level 3):
BS degree in STEM related field 5 or more years of relevant experience; MS Degree 3 or more years of relevant experience.
*Sr. Principal Engineer Supplier Quality (Level 4):
BS degree in STEM related field 8 or more years of relevant experience; MS Degree 6 or more years of relevant experience.
Requirements for both levels:
Experience with conducting product/ process validation in accordance with AS9102 (First Article Inspection).
* Experience with process improvements, tools, metrics, data integration
* Experience with coordination and collaboration with key cross-functional stakeholders
* US citizenship required.
* Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph clearance
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Federal and Defense contracting requirements including FAR and DFARS
* Expertise with Northrop Grumman supply chain and key suppliers
* Demonstrated experience in supply chain management on a major program in defense and/or management in development or production projects
* Direct experience interfacing with executive leadership
* SAP experience

Salary Range: $93,000 - $139,600
Salary Range 2: *$115,400 - $173,200
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
