One of our most challenging new fields is Microelectronics Design and Applications (MDA), which combines the unique properties of superconductivity and quantum mechanics to develop radical new energy-efficient computing systems. MDA is seeking a Sr. Staff Trade Studies and Analysis Systems Engineer with demonstrated ability to independently analyze research, recommend alternative to support ongoing microelectronic programs, and development of new technologies to support our innovative MDA team in support of emerging supercomputing technologies.
What You'll Get to Do:
Independently analyze research, recommend alternative to support ongoing microelectronic programs, and development of new technologies to support our innovative MDA team in support of emerging supercomputing technologies.
* Oversee risk management and opportunities while producing essential engineering work products and monitor these deliverables along with their related program dependencies within the program schedule. Emphasize identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in technical methods and strategies for mitigating risks in design, fabrication, and testing cycles.
* Coordinate between the System Architect, Chief Engineer, Product Team Lead(s), program manager, and customer to ensure the integrity and executability of the program technical baseline.
* Collaborate cross-functionally and multi-discipline to ensure system/subsystem/software designs align with system definitions.
* Support planning and execution of system/subsystems/software/hardware integration, (formal qualification) test, requirements specification and verification activities.
* Interface with inter-organizational management and external Customer to communicate technical briefing and program status.
This position is contingent on clearance.
This position will serve on-site in Linthicum / Annapolis Junction, MD.
Basic Qualifications for Sr. Staff Trade Studies and Analysis Systems Engineer:
Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 14 years of experience, a Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 12 years of experience or a PhD in a STEM discipline with 9 years of experience.
* Demonstrated experience in performing analysis and development of trade studies for complex systems.
* Demonstrated experience with Systems Development Lifecycle with a focus on research and development of emerging microelectronics and supporting systems.
* Experience in systems development, design, fabrication, integration and test.
* Demonstrated ability to interface and collaborate with cross-functional, multi-discipline teams to deliver engineering outcomes
* This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen
* Current active DoD TS/SCI with poly clearance per business requirements.
Preferred Qualifications of Sr. Staff Trade Studies and Analysis Systems Engineer:
Risk and Opportunity Management experience.
* Master's degree or PhD in STEM or technical management.
* Understanding of DoD systems engineering requirements (UAF).
* Multi-Disciplinary Engineering exposure (Software, Hardware, Electrical) and strong ability to communicate cross functionally.
* Experience developing engineering artifacts to support technology trade and architecture decisions.

Salary Range: $174,800 - $274,700
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
