Propulsion Systems (PS) business unit has an opening for a
Senior Principal Material Estimating Analyst or Staff Material Estimating Analyst. This position will be an on-site opportunity located at our Space Systems Sector in either our Magna, UT or Promontory, UT facilities.
The strategic purpose of this role is to ensure 100% compliance of all material content in the cost volume of proposals submitted to NGC customers.
Job responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Estimates material costs of manufacturing and engineering based on request for proposal (RFP) data submitted by prospective customers.
* Balance the proposal's business objective (scope, time, cost) while supporting 100% compliance rate on all customer proposals submitted. Provide input with regards to Make/Buy and Source Selection decisions.
* Analyzes specifications, including sketches, blueprints, bills of material, or sample layouts, and calculates production costs using labor and material pricing schedules and historical data. Alternatively, be the liaison and obtain technical evaluation input from the appropriate SMEs (subject matter experts) in support of writing a Price Analysis or Cost Analysis of the supplier proposal.
* Collects cost data from functional representatives, subcontractors, and vendors.
* Computes cost estimates of raw materials or subcontracted work and labor.
* Prepares and maintains historical cost data. Creates cost models for cost estimating elements.
* Prepares cost reports and presents findings to management, contract personnel, proposal coordinators, customer representatives, price auditors, vendors, and subcontractors.
* Review and complete the supplier proposal adequacy checklists. Monitor and follow up on compliance requirements.
* Support customer negotiations such as proposal fact finding or providing supporting analysis.
Basic Qualifications: (level 4)

8 years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree in business or related field or 6 years of experience with Master's Degree
* 12+ years of experience in business or related field with no degree
* Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance
Basic Qualifications: (level 5)

12 years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree in business or related field or 10 years of experience with Master's Degree
* 16+ years of experience in business or related field with no degree
* Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:

Supply Chain experience with DoD
* Experience in purchasing and analyzing purchase prices (e.g. Price Analysis, Cost Analysis, etc).
* Understanding of FAR proposal adequacy requirements
* Experience with major subcontractors and Government procurement regulations a plus.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Salary Range: $98,100 - $147,100
Salary Range 2: $122,100 - $183,100
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
