Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Industrial Engineer (T04 level). This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel program, on the Production Operations Team.
What You'll Get To Do:
This role will support production activities for the Air Vehicle Equipment (AVE) Team. As the Sr. Principal Industrial Engineer, you will be expected to be the Industrial Engineering Lead and provide project guidance to other IEs on your team. The preferred candidate will be an individual with a bias for action, strategic thinking, data analysis, problem-solving, exceptional customer focus, communications, and a sound foundation in Industrial Engineering concepts, with an expertise in scheduling, manpower, and facility layouts. General skills and expectations within the role include:
Key Responsibilities:

Strong foundation in Industrial Engineering fundamentals (Production Intervals, Cycle Times, Forecasting, Manufacturing Experience, Takt Time, Continuous Improvement)

Understand principles of capacity (efficiencies, standards, constraints, etc.)

Knowledge of manufacturing flows and how they interface with shop floor and Global Supply Chain to perform analysis and projections

Experience conducting Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (MRAs) with Suppliers

Experience with cost management (Earned Value, Milestone payments)

Develop cost/risk benefit summaries and recommendations for leadership

Experience with Project Management and manufacturing schedules

Ability to create detailed manufacturing waterfall schedules with setbacks to independent demands

Utilize process improvement methodology (e.g., value stream mapping, employee engagement techniques, flow reduction, etc.)

Understand labor standard development and work measurement

Experience creating factory and facility layouts

Engage and collaborate with programs and functional organizations (from individual contributors to executive staff) to obtain, understand, and interpret manufacturing facilitation and scheduling requirements

Document, track and monitor problems to ensure a timely resolution

Utilize your strong organizational, planning and decision-making skills and the ability to work as a team member and with other members from different technical backgrounds

Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and coordinate with teams at different site locations

Create and present technical briefings for upper management and technical leadership

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Job Qualifications: *
You'll Bring These Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering and 8 years of experience; 6 years of experience with a Masters; 4 Years with PhD

Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD security clearance, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need

Have a working knowledge and understanding of Industrial Engineering

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Visio

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

Active DoD security clearance

Experience working in Engineering, Manufacturing, and Development (EMD) phase of a program

Experience conducting Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (MRAs) with Suppliers

Aerospace and Defense Industry Experience

Knowledge of SAP MRP, AutoCad, and FlexSim (other discrete simulation programs) tools and concepts

Ability to create and automate Industrial Engineering performance metrics

Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel, Project, and PowerPoint, and Visio

Salary Range: $107,800.00 - $161,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
