Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add a Senior Principal Electronics Engineer - Infrastructure / Responsible Engineer to our team in Palmdale, CA. This position will be in our Avionics Integration Organization supporting Mission Systems IPT.

This candidate will be the technical and schedule lead for the integrating, testing, and troubleshooting of software/hardware systems in complex IT systems.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Solve technical challenges and/or resolve issues leveraging support from both engineering and field integration teams
* Perform system checkout and acceptance testing leveraging support from field installation team
* Verify all aspects of system integration have been completed, compile list of liens/deviations, and ensure system handoff is coordinated with sustainment team
* Solicit requirements/expectations for build and establish execution plan
* Prepare and present kickoff meetings to establish initial schedule, identify critical needs/deliverables, and coordinate with supporting organizations
* Perform morning standup meeting with integration team
* Maintain System Hardware and Software configuration
* Provide expert software, hardware, and system support to on-site end-users.
* Drive engineering deliverables: part procurement, drawings, configuration guides, installation guides, test procedures, and maintenance procedures
* Generate implementation instructions & present implementation plan to change board(s)
* Develop and maintain Microsoft PowerShell scripts, Bash and Python scripts, and Microsoft Group Policies
* Design and implement VMware high-availability virtualized infrastructures
* Script deployments of different operating systems
The selected candidate will be working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment working closely with other engineers and technicians in a lab-like environment. The candidate will be supporting a program where application of extensive technical expertise will be required to support a developing system.
The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility. There is no remote / hybrid / telework available for this position. This position requires the ability to travel up to 10% of the time for cross-team collaboration.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 8 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 3 years of related engineering experience.
* Demonstrated experience with Windows and Unix operating systems
* Demonstrated experience with VMWare
* Active CompTIA Security+ Certification
* Active in-Scope, DoD Top Secret clearance.
* Ability to obtain and maintain initial Special Program Access (SAP/PAR). This SAP/PAR must be obtained prior to commencement of employment and must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs. (Of note: SAP/PAR will be upgraded once selected candidate is in role. Therefore, candidate must also be able to obtain and maintain upgraded SAP/PAR.)
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with storage systems and basic networking
* Familiarity with Solaris 10 and 11, Oracle OEM
* Familiarity Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Windows, Active Directory
* Familiarity VMware ESXi, VMware vCenter
* Experience with IT/documentation tools such as Sphinx, Jinja, YAML, reST
* Experience with Agile processes
* Cost Account Management experience
* Experience with MS Project
* Experience with establishing schedule, identify critical needs/deliverables, and coordinate with supporting organizations
Salary Range: $137,400 - $206,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
