In this role you will:
Develop, modify, apply and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.
Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.
Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
Design and analyze inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
Ensure that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality. Main interface with our government agencies and customers onsite.
May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.
This role will manage our Vandenberg Space Force Base, California field site Quality Team. This team will include a total of 5 plus direct reports derived of Quality Engineers, Quality Analysts, and Quality Inspectors. Manager function will be responsible to ensure that we meet all customer quality requirements, including commercial and government contracts. Manager will ensure that all Quality metrics are measured and monitored and report progress on a monthly basis. These metrics will include items such as Product Escapes, Product First Pass Yield, First Articles statuses, MES Instruction reviews/approvals, drawing reviews/approvals, non conformance reporting, corrective action reporting, continuous improvement activities, and performance review management.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of professional experience - OR - Master's degree with 6+ years of professional experience
Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret (or higher) security clearance at time of application, current and within scope
Proven experience with Quality metrics, such as: Product Escapes, Product First Pass Yield, First Articles statuses, MES Instruction reviews/approvals, drawing reviews/approvals, non conformance reporting, corrective action reporting, continuous improvement activities, and/or performance review management
Track record building relationships and communicating effectively with all levels of the organization and with internal and external customers, including commercial and government customers.
Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to coach, develop and mentor others
Willing and able to work additional days/hours during launch campaigns
Preferred Qualifications:
BS degree plus 10 years of related experience; Masters degree plus 8 years of related experience.
Advanced degree in engineering, chemistry, or related science
Experience in Lean and Six-Sigma quality engineering methodologies

Salary Range: $129,300.00 - $193,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
