Northrop Grumman is seeking a
Principal or Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in defining the future for the Joint Interoperability Test and Training Center - Nellis. This position will be located at Nellis AFB, NV.
The Systems Engineer in this role must possess in-depth knowledge and experience in the definition, design, integration, test, and certification of related hardware and software requirements. Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Duties/Responsibilities:

Develop and review requirements, verification plans, and architecture at all levels of the System
* Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
* Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into lower level specifications.
* Integrate complex integration and design elements across multiple teams and systems to create a collaborative training environment.
* Document designs using detailed schematics, diagrams and specifications
* Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders to integrate solutions both software and hardware
* Technical management of program strategic partners and suppliers, including development, acquisition, acceptance, qualification, system integration and test support
* Conduct technical evaluations, documenting results, selection, installation and maintenance
* Design, create and maintain Standards documents and represent the program at various working groups.
* Review documents from the supplier's development effort and support supplier technical interchange meetings and design reviews
* Work seamlessly with other contractors and government employees towards a common goal and mission
This requisition is open as a dual level opportunity. We will consider candidates at a level 3 or level 4:
Basic Qualifications:

Must have US Citizenship with current or active Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain SCI clearance

Level 3: Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) related field with 5 or more years of engineering experience or MS with 3 years or more year of engineering experience or Ph.D. with 2 or more years of engineering experience
*
Level 4: Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) related field with 9 or more years of engineering experience or Masters Degree with 7 years or more year of engineering experience or Ph.D. with 4 or more years of engineering experience
* Possess a DOD 8570 certifications, such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or similar network/security certifications
*
Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR) (not needed to start)
* Experience with embedded systems, Windows, Unix and/or Linux operating systems, routing environments, single board computers, servers and Network Attached Storage (NAS) solutions
* Working knowledge of cyber security and Risk Managed Framework (RMF), STIGs and associated elements
Preferred Qualifications:

Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) protocol and DoD modeling and simulation working knowledge
* Experience with physical infrastructure design and maintenance
* Audio/Visual working knowledge
Salary Range: $102,400 - $153,600
Salary Range 2: $127,000 - $190,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
