We are looking for you to join our team as a
Principal/Sr Principal Network Engineer based out of San Diego, CA. As a Principal/Sr Principal Network Engineer at Northrop Grumman you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Enterprise-wide digital transformation. What You'll Get to Do

Develop engineering and automated deployments for datacenter system configurations.
* Executing engineering projects on schedule.
* Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot and redline documented procedures.
* Implement engineering changes to the system as required
* Responsible for integrating and testing software and/or hardware systems in complex IT systems.
* Work closely with Engineers and Technicians in a lab environment.
* Good planning, coordination, and documentation skills are required.
* Lead the design and trade studies to identify best-value hardware/network infrastructure for FDI.
* Design and oversee integration of commercial cloud vendor mission module hardware with DIPN common hardware
* Design and Oversee integration of FDI infrastructure with physical shelter.
This position may be filled as a Principal Network Engineer or Sr Principal Network Engineer.
Basic Qualifications for Principal Network Engineer:

Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in science, engineering, or related discipline with 5 years of experience; or 3 years of relevant experience with a Masters (MS) degree; or 1 year with a PhD
An additional 4 years of relevant experience/education can be considered in lieu of a Bachelor of Science Degree

* Experience in or knowledge of scripting/programming languages
* Experience with deploying, configuring, and hardening Network Devices
* Experience with Linux Operating Systems
* Working knowledge of routing & switching concepts and protocols
* Familiarity with network infrastructure and hardware
* Experience with integration of commercial hardware
* Experience with data center design and integration
* Candidate must be a US Citizen
* Clearance: Candidate must currently have, and be able to maintain an active/current U.S. Government DOD Secret Clearance or higher.
Basic Qualifications for Sr Principal Network Engineer:

Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in science, engineering, or related discipline with 8 years of experience; or 6 years of relevant experience with a Masters (MS) degree; or 4 year with a PhD
An additional 4 years of relevant experience/education can be considered in lieu of a Bachelor of Science Degree

* Experience in or knowledge of scripting/programming languages
* Experience with deploying, configuring, and hardening Network Devices
* Experience with Linux Operating Systems
* Working knowledge of routing & switching concepts and protocols
* Familiarity with network infrastructure and hardware
* Experience with integration of commercial hardware
* Experience with data center design and integration
* Candidate must be a US Citizen
* Clearance: Candidate must currently have, and be able to maintain an active/current U.S. Government DOD Secret Clearance or higher.
Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency in setting up and managing KVM servers.
* Strong knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Cockpit for VM management.
* Hands-on experience with Cisco ASAv, Cisco FTDv, Aruba vMC, or similar virtual firewall solutions.
* Understanding of IPsec and SSL VPN configurations.
* Proficiency in configuring and managing switching infrastructure in complex environments.
* Experience with network, compute, storage, and graphics-intensive VDI host processing infrastructure hardware an associated features, sizing, and selection criteria.
* Experience or familiarity with Juniper SSR 128T technology is highly desirable.
* Strong understanding of WAN optimization and multi-cloud networking strategies.
* Proven ability to document configurations, procedures, and project milestones.
* Strong communication skills for vendor coordination and knowledge transfer.
* Cisco CCNA/CCNP certification
* Juniper Networks certifications (e.g., JNCIA, JNCIA-Cloud, JNCIS-SP)
* Linux+, Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
* Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Capable of independently managing overlapping projects while ensuring high-quality results.
Salary Range: $100,300 - $150,500
Salary Range 2: *$124,900 - $187,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
