Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Tactical Space Sector Division -Production & Operations organization is seeking a Data/Principal Data Engineer located in Sterling, VA to join our Manufacturing Toolbox team. You will be responsible for driving the implementation of technical solutions that increase business efficiency. You will drive user adoption by partnering with end-users, industrial and systems engineers to understand todays workflows and convert them to digital solutions by providing front-end and back end solutions. You will also be responsible for developing data engineering and architecture solutions that enable new business insights. Lastly, you will interact and consult with the manufacturing leadership team, program leadership, and support functional leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in the planning, design, development and implementation of digital workflow solutions to address ongoing business performance improvement opportunities.
• Decompose user requirements into logical functions/components.
• Develop and support data architectures, data pipelines and data management solutions.
• Data preparation/cleaning, integration, and automation from heterogeneous sources.
• Support cross-team development efforts for multiple projects, including data cleanup, ingestion, and linkage with other data sets.
• Document design, deployment and operating procedures for each work product.
• Develop impactful predictive modelling, Monte Carlo simulations and advanced analytics.
• Present data in a meaningful way (insights, visualizations) to management.
• Monitor and optimize system performance.
• Ensure data integrity and system availability.
• Other duties as assigned.
This requisition is open as a dual level opportunity. We will consider candidates at a level T2 or level T3 (Principal)

Basic Qualifications for T2 level
Bachelor's degree in engineering, data engineering, data analytics, business analytics, or related field and 2 years of experience; OR a Master's degree and 0 years of experience.
Basic Qualifications for T3 level
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, data engineering, data analytics, business analytics, or related field and 5 years of experience; OR a Master's degree and 3 years of experience.
Additional Basic Qualifications:
• Experience and demonstrated proficiency with Python and Django.
• Experience using SQL programming and database management skills to architect, optimize and maintain SQL code for databases, tables, views, stored procedures and functions.
• Experience with one or more of these database systems: Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite.
• Experience with Front End Web Development.
• Experience with Agile Software Development.
• Experience with version control in GitHub.
• Experience working with ETL techniques and frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications
• Master's degree in information technology, data science, industrial engineering, or related field
• Experience and demonstrated knowledge and application of: Lean, Six Sigma, ToC, and Scaled Agile
• Experience and familiarity with Costpoint or SAP, TipQA, Solumina/MES, PLM -Windchill
• Experience and/or training with cloud database tools, especially those in AWS and Azure
• Experience with analysis and visualization of data: Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx
Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00Salary Range 2: $110,300.00 - $165,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
