Position Overview:
The selected Principal Software Engineer / Sr. Principal Software Engineer - Software Architect will work on the Modeling and Simulation - Framework (MASC-F) program with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and developers.
Essential Functions:

Provide technical leadership for the system's development, including:
Identifying technical issues and coordinating across the MASC-F program to resolve these issues
Coordinating with associate contractors developing the applications
Reporting status at meetings
Working closely with the test and integration team

Work with the Chief Architect and deputy to ensure an integrated system solution is planned and architected.
Create and update SysML diagrams for the RepBox architecture.
Collaborate with the MDA to ensure requirements and design considerations are managed and provide software guidance to the agile development teams.
The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.
This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on the qualifications listed below.
Basic Qualifications:
This requisition may be filled at either a Principal Software Engineer or a Sr. Principal Software Engineer level.
Basic Qualifications for a Principal Software Engineer are:

Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree and 3 years of related experience, or 1 years of experience with a PhD.
C++ and Java software development experience
Agile Software Development experience
System Design Artifacts Generation / Software Design
Artifacts Generation in UML/SySML using Enterprise Architect/Cameo or similar tool to create Class Diagrams, Sequence of Events Diagrams, and Activity Diagrams and their corresponding SySML diagrams
Ability to work full time onsite
Applicants must have a current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at the time of application and is required to start.
Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal Software Engineer are:

Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree and 6 years of related experience, or 4 years of experience with a PhD.
C++ and Java software development experience
Agile Software Development experience
System Design Artifacts Generation / Software Design
Artifacts Generation in UML/SySML using Enterprise Architect/Cameo or similar tool to create Class Diagrams, Sequence of Events Diagrams, and Activity Diagrams and their corresponding SySML diagrams
Ability to work full time onsite

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Data Links and Comms, modular Open Mission Systems architectures, integrated development environment including debugger tools, networking, requirements generation, and systems interface development is highly desired.
Agile Process Tools (e.g. Version One, JIRA)
Requirements generation and system interface development
UML design documentation
XML technologies for configuration and run-time messaging, including schema (XSD) and transforms (XSLT)
Object Oriented (OO) Design
Linux Operating System
Configuration Management Systems (e.g. Git/Gitlab)
System Requirements decomposition
System Design Documents decomposition
Knowledgeable of Agile process using Jira
Familiarity with MDA Sensors and missile defense systems
Familiarity with modeling and simulation tools
Current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance.
Salary Range: $105,400.00 - $158,000.00Salary Range 2: $131,100.00 - $196,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
