The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can manage complex tasks independently with strong business acumen and the ability to clearly and confidently communicate complex concepts to cross functional teams and senior leadership. The ability to effectively manage multiple stakeholders, critical deadlines and ensure timely deliverables is paramount to the success of the role.

This position is required to be on-site at the Plymouth, MN location.
Responsibilities Include:
Performs or assures quality, risk management, safety, reliability and maintainability of program achievements, subcontractors, and suppliers in accordance with contractual requirements.
Defines and monitors mission assurance program specifications and processes to ensure mission success of programs.
Drive culture change toward more proactive risk mitigation, data driven decision making, and continuous improvement mindset.
Support Return to Green, Failure Analysis, and Corrective Action activities as independent resource with focus on full resolution and future risk mitigation.
Work cross functionally to identify and prioritize problems, create initiatives for business, operational, technical, and administrative process improvements in support of the overall mission success, to reduce waste and quantifiably improve process efficiency and effectiveness.
Assesses program performance and risks and determines resources to ensure mission assurance and program excellence.
Assists in the definition, planning, organizing, directing and controlling risk and opportunity management efforts.
Evaluates and approves risk and opportunity handling approaches, mitigation plans and approves opportunity exploitation plans.
Organizes and conducts meetings to facilitate communication and execution of the risk and opportunity management process.
Informs and advises higher level management on critical project risks and mitigations.
Basic Qualifications:
Qualifications for Principal Engineer Mission Assurance
Bachelor's degree in STEM discipline plus 5 years of experience; or master's degree plus 3 years of experience; or PhD plus 1 year of experience
Qualifications for Sr. Principal Engineer Mission Assurance
Bachelor's degree in STEM discipline plus 8 years of experience; or master's degree plus 6 years of experience; or PhD plus 4 years of experience
Experienced in Risk Management processes and toolsets.
Strong analytical, organizational, and reporting skills.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
Experience conducting root cause and corrective action investigations.
Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives and projects.
Experience presenting to upper-level management.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Business Management or Program Management.
Experience with audits and compliance.
PMP certification.
Background in leading teams.
Program / Project Management Experience.

Salary Range: $105,400.00 - $158,000.00Salary Range 2: $131,100.00 - $196,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
