The Program Material Planner is a unique position that requires strategic thinking and tactical execution skills to solve complex problems and ensure success on their assigned program.
The successful candidate will manage all subcontracted and purchased material and be responsible for development, coordination and execution of program material plans and strategy. They will ensure that all order placement and receipts meet program milestones. They will have ownership of the material forecast to include cost and schedule.
A successful Program Material Planner will demonstrate the ability to complete tasks with little direction and oversight. They will be an effective communicator and problem solver who can work with multiple disciplines and communicate challenges to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Responsibilities

Material management and analysis for assigned program.
* Defines and develops material strategy.
* Coordinates and supports development of material requirements and Bills of Material (BOMs).
* Integration of material requirements into program Integrated Master Schedules.
* Supports monthly Earned Value Management processes through development and maintenance of material cost and schedule forecasts from initial planning through execution.
* Report program material status and analysis of material variances to plan and other applicable metrics.
* Participates in make/buy process, long-term capacity and resource planning; product phase-in/phase-out, manufacturing ramp-up, end-of-life management and product-line management.
* Analyzes purchase material supply/demand position using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools.
* Monitors inventory levels based on dependent and independent BOM requirements.
* Analyzes lead times and identifies critical path procurements.
* Aggregates demand requirements to streamline procurement processes.
* Single point of contact for all material-related issues and questions for the assigned program.
* Coordinates interdepartmentally with engineering, integration, quality assurance, supply chain, and the warehouse to resolve issues regarding material delivery, cost, and quality.
* Present material status to program and operations leadership.
* May release MRP demand in SAP S/4
Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience - OR - Master's degree with 3+ years of professional experience; 9+ years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD Top Secret Security Clearance
* Understanding of BOMs, structures, and dependencies within a manufacturing environment
* Knowledge of material planning, procurement, and handling
* Ability to prepare and present data, charts, and status reports
* Proficiency using an ERP system for material and finance data analysis
* Proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with Earned Value Management and forecasting material receipts
* Experience working in SAP S/4 HANA
Salary Range: $91,200 - $136,800
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
