Northrop Grumman Mission Enabled Products (MEP) and Strategic Business has an opening for a Principal EHS Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. In this role, you will oversee and manage an effective Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) program to protect personnel, equipment, and facilities.
Job duties:

Interpret, recommend, and comply with EH&S regulations and company policies
Manage site air permitting program and ensure compliance with AQMD
Maintain Stormwater Pollution Prevention Program requirements
Collaborates with sector and business unit resources to follow best practices
Assist in planning for changes in physical facilities to meet current and new environmental and safety requirements
Ensure compliance with wastewater permit requirements
Ability to maintain a robust Job Hazard Analysis program
Oversees and supports radiation safety
Manage the Site hazardous materials program including maintaining an accurate inventory, ensuring proper storage, and scheduling/ documenting hazardous waste shipments; organize and equip spill control process
Monitor EH&S metrics/KPI's in accordance with Company requirements to drive improvements
Provide/coordinate training for contractors and employees
Maintains current and accurate EH&S policies, manuals, and procedures; monitor EH&S metrics that measure status and drive improvements
Oversee accident/injury and near-miss investigation and reporting; collaborative with all related documents and records
Facilitates the EH&S compliance calendar
Basic Qualifications for a Principal EHS Engineer:

4 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; an additional 7+ years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Ability to perform job duties without appreciable direction and supervision
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Excellent risk communication and collaboration skills with all levels of an organization
Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications in environmental or safety related programs, for example CHMM or CSP
Computer based skills specifically with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point programs
Experience with Microsoft SharePoint and Tableau
Proficient knowledge of California/local government agencies i.e. Cal OSHA, AQMD, DTSC, CUPA, local water authority
Experience overseeing air permitting, wastewater, stormwater and SPCC programs
Lock/Out Tag/Out, machine guarding, confined space and respiratory protection program knowledge
Industrial Hygiene experience
Auditing and/or maintaining an effective EHS inspection program
Emergency Response and/or HAZWOPER trained
Forklift certified or willing to be trained
Managing a Management of Change program
Salary Range: $84,200.00 - $126,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
