Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer in our Chandler, AZ facility. This position will provide systems engineering support, focusing on managing the CDRL/SDRL submittals in preparation for key milestone meetings (CDR, etc. ) on the Sentinel program. This position will require the Principal Systems Engineer to ensure that CDRLs/SDRLs are provided to the customer per the IMS; create and update metrics to track the CDRL/SDRL status; and improve the process between us and the customer. Additionally, the Principal Systems Engineer will work with leadership to ensure entrance and exit criteria for key milestone meetings, and associated deliverables, are planned out and delivered on time. Finally, this Principal Systems Engineer may be requested to support requirements derivation, decomposition, and capture in DOORS and CAMEO.
Essential Functions:

Identify, tracking and deliver CDRLs/SDRLs to the Sentinel customer per the schedule in the IMS
* Report the status of all CDRLs/SDRLs on at least a monthly basis
* Understand the entrance and exit criteria for key milestone meetings; ensure that the team delivers all necessary Objective Evidence on time to support the planned meetings; and track compliance to the identified criteria
* Track and report the status of other program activities as required
* Assist in the development, decomposition, refinement and documentation of system, subsystem and component requirements and capabilities to support the Sentinel program. This includes ensuring the system architecture is captured in CAMEO and corresponding requirements are captured in DOORS (and that the two are consistent).
* Collaborate with senior systems engineers and other disciplines to support the development of the Sentinel deliverables
* Lead small ad-hoc teams in the execution of tasking per the Integrated Master Schedule as required
Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master's degree in STEM with 3 years of related engineering experience, or a PhD in STEM with no experience
* Interim Secret DoD security clearance, or higher - work is performed in a closed area full time (100% onsite / 100% Closed area)
* Experience with CDRLs/SDRLs
* Experience with tracking / metrics of programmatic deliverables
* Process improvement experience
* Strong Oral and Written communication skills
* Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and nontechnical personnel
* Experience with compliance to requirements / customer expectations
Preferred Qualifications:

Active Secret DoD security clearance, or higher
* Control Account Manager / EVMS experience
* Missile Defense or Command and Control Experience
* MBSE experience (Cameo or similar)
* Mechanical Engineering exposure - ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and analyses
* Electrical Engineering exposure - ability to read and understand electrical schematics and analyses
* Thrust Vector Controller or Actuator experience
* Solid Rocket Motor experience
* Supplier Management experience
* Requirements Decomposition experience
* Experience with MagicDraw/Cameo Systems Modeler
* DOORS or other requirements Management Experience
* Sharepoint experience
* Confluence Experience
* Demonstrated experience in requirements decomposition, validation and verification
* JIRA experience
Salary Range: $95,300 - $142,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
