As a Principal Engineer Systems, you will perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Perform analysis at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal. Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware specifications.
Basic Qualifications:

Principal Engineer Systems: 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 1 Year with PhD
* Proven ability to comprehend/develop/decompose System Architecture and System Requirements from legacy systems to maintain capabilities of HW system refreshes and updates
* Experience with Requirements Impact Assessments, Change Requests, and Engineering Change Proposals
* Proven ability to understand and develop hardware systems interface documentation, interconnect diagrams, BOMs, military standards
* Physical requirements for lifting up to 60lbs., bending, and working outdoors, etc.
* Should be able to support fielding events
* Active Secret clearance to start
Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with Systems Engineering best practices and procedures
* Experience with Project Management
* Should be able to build hardware prototypes in the EDM
* Support overall hardware program operations
* Effectively communicate and present to project and program management, technical managers, and customers
* Coordinating and collaborating with diverse engineering and cross-stakeholder teams to assist in managing technical baseline
* Driving required contractual deliverables and non-contractual documentation updates to closure
* Technical experience with IAMD: C2 with understanding of weapons, sensors, distributed computing and these systems' impact on a command-and-control system's architecture, requirements, and interfaces for communications between these systems
* Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills for team collaboration and presentations with government customer audience
* Must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks, work under general direction, and demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills
* Assist with identifying process gaps to create repeatable internal processes and guidelines to improve efficiency
Salary Range: *$102,400 - $153,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
