We are looking for you to join our team as a CMM Metrology Engineer based out of Sunnyvale, CA.
What you will get to do:
The CMM Metrology Engineer uses PC-DMIS / Spatial Analyzer software to develop and maintain CMM programs to ensure product quality and accuracy. Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T to create efficient inspection plans and reports.
Key Responsibilities:

CMM Program Development: Create and maintain CMM programs using PC-DMIS software to inspect manufactured parts with the goal to have enough data from the first run to eliminate Engineers requesting more information. Plan ahead.
Drawing Interpretation: Interpret engineering drawings, CAD data, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) specifications to develop accurate inspection plans.
Inspection Execution: Train and mentor CMM inspectors to perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections using CMM equipment to ensure compliance with design specifications.
Data Analysis: Analyze inspection data to identify and resolve potential quality issues, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Documentation: Review Document inspection results, including reports, logs, and data input into quality databases.
Collaboration: Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to identify and resolve quality issues and improve production efficiency.
Training: Train and guide operators and inspectors on the use of CMM equipment and PC-DMIS software.
Problem Solving: Identify and resolve issues related to CMM programming, operation, and inspection processes.
Audits: Prepare reports for internal and external audits.
Other: Other QE/QC inspection process delegated from QC Management.
This position may be filled at a Principal or Sr. Principal level, depending on candidate experience.
Basic Qualifications for the Principal CMM Metrology Engineer:

A bachelor's degree in a STEM field and a minimum of 5 years of CMM Programming Experience with PC-DMIS.
A minimum of 5 years of Machine Shop Experience
GD&T Formal Training
Active DoD Secret Clearance
Basic Qualifications for the Sr. Principal CMM Metrology Engineer:

A bachelor's degree in a STEM field and a minimum of 8 years of CMM Programming Experience with PC-DMIS.
A minimum of 8 years of Machine Shop Experience
GD&T Formal Training
Active DoD Secret Clearance
Salary Range: $100,300.00 - $150,500.00Salary Range 2: $124,900.00 - $187,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
