Come be a part of our mission. Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) is looking for you to join our team as a Principal/Sr. Principal DevOps Engineer in the Payload and Ground Systems Division. This position can be based out of Fairfax, VA.
The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for integrating development pipelines, leveraging automation with test-driven development tools and continuous integration/test frameworks. The candidate will ensure implementation of Software Configuration Management (SCM), code qualify, and code coverage with automated testing for Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
The requisition may be filled at either the Principal or Senior Principal grade based on the qualifications listed below.
Basic Qualifications:
• Principal: Bachelor's degree in STEM discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience; master's degree with 3+ years, PhD 0+ years or 9 years of related experience in lieu of degree.
• Sr. Principal: Bachelor's degree in STEM discipline with 8+ years of relevant experience; master's degree with 6+ years, PhD 3+ years or 12 years of related experience in lieu of degree.
• * Active Top Secret Clearance required at the time of application.
• Experience with developing and deploying CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins, GitLab, or similar
• Experience in a technical leadership role managing technical objectives
• Experience communicating work products to external stakeholders
• Experience with deployment automation scripting using Ansible, Helm or related products
• Experience troubleshooting virtualization, automation, and deployment applications
• Experience with Linux Operating Systems Preferably RHEL 8/9
• Experience with bash scripting
• Experience managing virtualized compute with terraform (VMWare, Proxmox, etc.)
• Experience managing containers using container orchestrators like Docker, Kubernetes (K8s)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Active TS/SCI, granted or re-investigated within the last 6 years or in continuous evaluation
• Active security+ certification
• Experience with Agile Development
• Experience managing source code in Git
• Knowledge of security compliance standards
• Experience in multi enclave security environments
• Knowledge of basic networking principles (subnets, VLANs, routing, and firewalls)
Salary Range: $107,300 - $160,900
Salary Range 2: $133,000 - $199,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
