The Deployables program in
Oxnard, CA is seeking to hire a full-time, on-site Electronics Engineer to support harnessing work and development. This individual will be researching, designing, developing, and testing a variety of electronic equipment and systems.
Responsibilities:

Support the engineering design and installation of electrical harnesses for various spaceflight systems.

* Research, design, develop, and test a variety of electronic equipment and systems including:

Radar and radiation detection equipment; radio, television and other communications equipment and systems; circuitry components; analog and digital computers; and control and test equipment.

Design electrical harnesses for power distribution, RF, communication and high-speed data signal, selection of harness components and hardware, connectors, backshells, cable and wire

* Understanding and application of EMI/RFI and harness shielding, creation of 3D routed harness data files utilizing Creo (Pro/Engineer) Cabling and Routed System Designer (RSD)

* Create harness detail and installation drawings including 2D flat harness drawings from the 3D harness data sets

* Design and integrate harness support brackets, support design configuration development and trade studies, provide technical guidance for hardware installation

* Support the assembly and testing of cables and harnesses while maintaining and reporting on activity schedule & technical status

Locate opportunities for improvements and operational cost and schedule savings

Qualifications

5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline; 3 years of relevant experience with a Masters' degree; 0 years of relevant experience with a PhD

* Experience designing and integrating electrical harnessing

* Strong electrical/mechanical design and integration skills using 3-D CAD software

Preferred:

Familiarity with common manufacturing processes, chemical coatings, metals and their treatments in the manufacturing of satellite subsystems. (Solar Arrays, Deployable Mechanical Systems)

* Familiar with existing applicable harness standards: IPC/WHMA-A-620A, NASA-STD-8739.4

* Experience with Creo and Windchill or similar 3D software

* Understanding and application of wire derating analysis

* Prefer experience designing and integrating electrical harnessing for spacecraft, launch vehicles, or aircraft

Salary Range: *$107,300 - $160,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
