We are seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer to join our talented NGP team. This position can be located in Redondo Beach or Azusa, CA. The ideal candidate will have a passion for developing and automating creative solutions. We cover a wide variety of technologies including Jenkins, Coverity, Ansible, Atlassian suite, Docker, OpenShift and many more.
This position is contingent upon program award and/or customer funding.
Core Responsibilities:
System analysis, design, develop, build, test, implement, and maintain various systems to meet functional objectives of the business
Implement provisioning and deployment techniques via packaging and containerizing for automating requirements testing
Function with Agile principles to execute efficiently in an environment of continuous feedback
Ensure implementation of Software Configuration Management (SCM), code quality, and code coverage with automated testing for Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience; Master's degree with 3 years of relevant experience; PhD with 1 year of relevant experience; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
Secret Clearance required at the time of application
Administration experience with Linux or related operating systems
Experience in an Agile software development framework
Experience of administering virtualized or containerized systems in VMWare and Docker
Familiarity with the Atlassian tool suite (Bitbucket, Jira, and Confluence)
Source code management using Git/Bitbucket
Building applications using Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD
Experience with Git
Working familiarity with the principle of DevSecOps
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
Experience with standing up a Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery pipeline
Manage containers using container orchestrators Kubernetes (K8s), OpenShift, preferred
Build custom scripts to automate tasks using Ansible, Bash, or Python
Experience of automating tasks using Ansible and/or Terraform
Experience with C++ and Java
* Familiarity with security coding standard best practices, static and dynamic scanning tools, i.e., SonarQube, Fortify, Coverity, etc.
Salary Range: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
