The successful
Manager, Field Services Engineering 2 will clearly demonstrate strong leadership skills to achieve sustainable top performance. He/she will have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business.
Demonstrated ability to build diverse and inclusive teams with high levels of engagement, including mentoring and coaching, are a must. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, and the ideal candidate will have demonstrated success collaborating and leading his/her team. This candidate will demonstrate a broad skill set that is balanced between interpersonal, business, and technical capabilities. He/she will have an ability to operate in a team environment to accomplish the team goals. The candidate will work closely with various functional managers to coordinate maintenance and personnel schedules. The ideal candidate will also be able to champion change within the organization, to achieve competitive advantage for the business.
Previous experience working with the U.S. military is desirable. In addition to general management, the position requires close coordination with Northrop Grumman Program Managers as well as being the U.S. advocate for employees with HR and computer resources. Night and weekend work might be required in the case of overseas emergencies.
What you'll get to do:
• Lead and develop adverse technical team of approximately 12-15 people.
• Establish and maintain effective management oversight, functional management, and customer (internal/external) communication.
• This position will also generate and evaluate personnel resource inputs to proposals and manage both cost and schedule performance.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership and direction on activities in accordance with program and organization goals, facilitate team meetings, analyze problems, plan and direct tasks and provide solutions to ensure proper use of resources and assets.
• Responsible for staffing and workload forecast; employee inclusion, engagement, mentoring and career development; employee training and identification and training of skills required to execute on programs.
• Responsible for planning and scheduling of assignments; ensuring employees are up to date on various training activities and qualifications; standardize, develop and enhance support processes for system support; management of procurement and logistics personnel to ensure on-time deliveries of materials.
• Recruiting, sourcing, onboarding, performance management of subordinates. It may also include management of specialized contracted labor.
• Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability for total systems. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer requirements into total solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science or related STEM degree field and a minimum of 5 years related leadership experience. An additional 4 years of related leadership experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Candidate must have a current TS clearance with SCI eligibility. Candidate must pass a Counter Intelligence Polygraph. Must be able to maintain this level of clearance and appropriate customer access for continued employment.
• Experience in the support and/or management of U.S. Navy Maintenance or Logistics Programs, or other military program support/management
• Supervisory experience in a shipboard or industrial environment
• Demonstrated ability in management of multiple projects
• Experience in all aspects of employee relations and employee management including staffing, recruiting, performance management, training, and career development
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in a STEM field
• Counter Intelligence Polygraph completed within last 5 years
• Experience with U.S. Navy quality maintenance practices
• Experience with configuration management policies and practices
• Experience with reading technical/engineering drawings or document
• Outstanding written and verbal communications skills
Salary Range: *$129,300 - $193,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
