Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Manufacturing Operations Manager 2 to join our Space Manual Integration Team located at Linthicum, MD MSAT2 facility.
You will be responsible for the direct supervision of approximately 20-25 represented (union) employees and processes in a Manufacturing clean room environment.
You will work independently across organizations; manage the use of consumables to achieve budget targets; assign and manage represented Space Module Specialists to maximize efficiency and achieve target productive yields; implement our process improvements to improve affordability, quality, and schedule; and significant collaboration with Space Leadership. Perform required SAP/MES transactions to manage SM Specialists. You have demonstrated leadership skills and ability, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll get to Do:
Providing direction to employees utilizing management guidelines and general policies; design and process development, production, operations, engineering, test, and quality assurance functions
* Driving employee efficiency
* Meeting product cost and schedule targets
* Managing the area to produce quality products and coordinate priorities
* Implementing process improvements along with Facilitating and leading WCO meetings and projects to improve affordability, quality, and schedule
* Interfacing with quality, mission assurance and test engineering to coordinate priorities as well as test shift coverage, schedule, and delivery
* Providing insight to capital expenditures, capacity planning and facilities management
* Overseeing tooling, calibration and receiving dock
* Utilizing PCAB/SQDCM Lean tools
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 8 years of experience in a Manufacturing, Production, IT or Engineering environment; Master's Degree with 6 years of experience in a Manufacturing, Production, IT or Engineering environment; (Note, 12 years of work experience in a Manufacturing, Production, IT or Engineering environment may be considered in lieu of degree).
* Prior experience managing personnel/teams
* Experience with staffing management/capacity planning
* Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret Level Security Clearance including SCI
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in business, engineering, or other STEM area plus 9+ years relevant experience
* 7+ years of experience leading and managing production or development projects with direct personnel, including resource management
* Prior experience working in a represented (union) environment
* Experience with SAP/MES
* Lean Manufacturing Experience
* Active TS/SCI clearance

Salary Range: *$119,800 - $179,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
