Manufacturing Engineer to provide manufacturing and process engineering technical expertise and project management for our Medium Caliber Cannon production programs in our Mesa, AZ facility. This position is focused on providing technical and process leadership in the manufacturing of medium caliber cannons and supports the Guns business segment at Armament Systems Business Unit.

Position Description:

Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handling

* Generates and maintains manufacturing bills of materials (MBOM)

* Designs arrangement of work centers or machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout

* Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of product, tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance

* Adapts process, tool, machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.

* Incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan

* Inspects performance of processes, product, machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality

* Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques

* Ensures processes and procedures are compliant with regulations

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of experience, a Master's degree plus 0 years of experience, or a PhD plus 0 years of experience

* Engineering experience in supporting a production environment

* Experience working with design engineering, Quality Assurance, machinists, and assembly personnel

* Proven partnership/collaboration skills and ability to partner with cross functional disciplines within a team

* Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, presentation)

* Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)

* Must be a US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with MES and/or software that maintains routings and production data

* Experience with MRP software (SAP, CostPoint, etc)

* Experience with PLM Software (Teamcenter, Windchill, etc)

* Experience with using 3D modeling software (Solidworks, NX, Pro-E, etc)

* Experience working with Aerospace/Military standards and implementation of standards across cross-functional teams

Salary Range: $70,200 - $105,400
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
