Manager Systems Engineering 3 as Sustainment Software Manager to join our diverse team of professionals. This leadership position is located onsite in San Diego, CA with expected travel to Palmdale, CA as a secondary location.

Essential Functions:
Under the direction and leadership of the Product Support tech team lead and the Life Cycle Program Manager, the Sustainment Software Manager will work with Product Support, Life Cycle Management, adjacent program functions, and the customer to drive and manage a sustainable software product. Candidate will define the structure of the software sustainment team and drive process improvements across their individual team and flow up to enterprise leadership when required with the focus of improving effectiveness, availability, and sustainability of assets by minimizing maintenance downtime and streamlining support.
This leader will manage a diverse team of systems and software engineers and help coordinate between other teams internal and external, internal leadership, and the customer to ensure proactive management, execution, risk reduction, and opportunity capture to support delivered IFC baselines and software as directed by the customer and internal leadership. He/she will also coordinate and lead preparation of presentation materials to support customer status review, Program Integration Reviews, and proposal efforts.
Primary Tasks:

Lead the sustainment software team from content prioritization and software design to handoff of the product to the installation/ build team.
* Oversee technical baseline, ensuring a quality end product is provided to the program that maintains and improves supportability of the product.
* Oversee financial and schedule performance, ensuring milestones and contract deliverables are on-schedule and meet requirements.
* Serve as focal point for operating unit software sustainment team. Balance time between team leadership, collaboration across the NG team leadership and collaboration with customer leadership.
* Interact/collaborate continuously with IFC software sustainment team, program managers, and customer representatives concerning project deliverables and deliverable requirements.
* Review contract requirements to determine documentation required for the sustainment of delivered software baselines.
* Self-motivated and able to effectively work with all levels of the organization.

Basic Qualifications:

Must have a Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) field AND 9 years of related professional/military experience to include a background in engineering and/or related functions, OR a Master's degree AND 7 years of related professional/military experience to include a background in engineering and/or related functions.
* 3 years of leadership experience.
* 2 years Systems Engineering experience including leading user requirements definition, managing software development, managing IFC execution, and/or overseeing testing.
* 3 years experience with Software Configuration Management and software management to include baseline management.
* Ability to travel up to 20%.
* Current active in-scope DOD Top Secret Clearance, with the ability to maintain special access.
* US Citizenship is a requirement for employment.
Preferred Qualifications:

Current special access.
* Experience as a cost account manager or similar.
* SRB, TRB, or CCB experience.
* Experience working with a customer to define project deliverables.
* Previous experience coordinating aspects of program execution including planning, baselining, and implementation across multiple teams.
* Strong skills in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, MS Project, and PowerPoint.
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
Salary Range: $187,000 - $280,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
