The selected candidate will lead the Material Operations Group in Warner Robins, Georgia.
The OU Material Operations Manager will lead a diverse team consisting of management, salaried individual contributors, and hourly workforce. This position requires multi-disciplined knowledge in all areas related to material planning, material movement, inventory control, and management disciplines including material modeling, supplier requirements definition, supply chain coordination, supplier management, and material procurement.
As the Material Operations Manager, you will interface with multiple internal and external functional areas including Program Management, Operations, Engineering, Mission Assurance, Business Management, other Northrop Grumman organizations, and our government partner. This position reports directly to the Global Supply Chain (GSC) Business Unit Manager and is responsible for the full material health position for all programs within the OU. As an in integral part of the GSC Leadership Team, you will be expected to develop the material management strategy to ensure all programs are in a positive healthy material status, provide material cost forecasting with a variance below 5% and effectively communicate plans to the functional areas.
Leadership characteristics and people engagement is of the upmost importance with an ability to exhibit professionalism and create a team working and learning environment. Communication is paramount, with an ability to clearly define expectations and work thru issues. Additional leadership characteristics include the ability and willingness to assume accountability when the perception of need exists, and an ability to accomplish tasks in a positive manner while managing multiple projects at the same time with varying levels of maturity.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Establish Material Operations Strategy to be implemented by the Material Operations Management Team

* Drive overall material health, material schedule, and accurately forecast costs by using statistical planning models to forecast the material demand for the OU

* Work collaboratively with other functional areas to meet OU commitments

* Drive continuous improvement, and affordability initiatives within the OU

* Identify critical material shortages and resolve material related issues due to supply based problems, inventory errors, or demand changes

* Manage and communicate material risks and opportunities

* Ultimately responsible for inventory control, ensuring stock levels are maintained at an appropriate level by coordinating the efficient movement of materials with Global Supply Chain and management at the Distribution Center.

* Engage in the generation of proposals including identify material requirements, drafting supplier statements of work, basis of estimates, and estimate rational

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of related experience (additional 4 years of experience can replace degree requirement)

* Demonstrated success in leading teams or projects with a minimum of 2 years of managing people

* Demonstrated success in continuous process improvement initiatives

* Demonstrated ability to analyze data and identify trends

* Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)

* US citizen and ability to obtain a DOD Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated success in performing in a fast-paced depot environment

* Minimum 7 years of material, supply chain, or program management experience

* In-depth knowledge of material management in a depot or production environment

* Experience in communication, both written and verbal, with customers and senior management

* Understanding of Obsolescence and Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS)

* Experience with all aspects of proposal generation

Salary Range: $122,800 - $184,200
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
