The Charlotte facility has been operating for over 40 years in the laser industry and has developed the reputation of providing the highest quality products with timely deliveries. Within the facility, solid-state oxide and fluoride crystals are grown from a high-temperature melt.
SYNOPTICS has full optical fabrication capabilities for various plano and spherical geometries. SYNOPTICS serves the photonics and optics industry across the globe.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Manager of Facilities Engineering the position will oversee daily activities of the Maintenance Technicians for a 24/7 operation. In particular, the scheduling and priority of tasks associated with equipment repair and preventative maintenance (facility, infrastructure and operating equipment).
This position will be onsite at our Charlotte, NC facility.
This is a front line Supervisor opportunity with direct reports.
Major Responsibilities:
Assist with diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment failures and ensure repairs are completed correctly
* Provide hands on guidance working directly alongside the Maintenance Technicians with maintenance and repairs
* Train and mentor Maintenance Technicians in technical skills.
* Manage/oversee the work order/PM scheduling system, Maximo, ensuing all technicians and departments are getting the most from the management system.
* Coordinate vendor activity to sustain the preventative maintenance and repair of facility and infrastructure assets.
* Oversee critical spare part inventories to ensure reliable operations and effective support. This includes the timely ordering of parts and tools.
* Oversight of equipment files for existing and new equipment.
* Partner with Facility Engineers for project work. Interface with all departments including EHS to ensure all work is completed following safety and quality objectives.
* Provide management oversight for Maintenance Technicians and Experimental Machinist. Partner with machine shop engineer to maintain a safe and reliable operation.
Basic Qualifications:
Must have minimum of 5 years experience in manufacturing.
* Must have minimum of 3 years experience in maintenance within manufacturing.
* Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and other aspects of industrial equipment
* Ability to perform equipment repair and maintenance as needed
* Strong working knowledge of facilities infrastructure and maintenance trades such as, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, etc.
* Strong working knowledge of facilities infrastructure and manufacturing equipment service and repair.
* Experience in the oversight of safe work practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
A bachelors degree in engineering or related STEM.
* Prior manufacturing or maintenance personnel supervision experience.
* Good communication and presentation skills.
Salary Range: $90,700 - $136,100
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
