The selected applicant will report to the site EHS Manager and will be responsible for successfully managing a team of EHS professionals in Environmental Compliance and multi discipline coordination programs.

Key roles and responsibilities include:

Develops, implements, and maintains Environmental Compliance programs to ensure compliance with the federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and standards associated with the State of Maryland.

Manage Environmental programs and environmental professionals performing tasks in the program including but not limited to permitting, sampling, and reporting of air pollutant emissions, industrial wastewater discharges, stormwater, oil pollution, and industrial waste generation and disposal.

Manage EHS professionals performing tasks in hazardous materials reviews including chemical purchasing, tracking and chemical data analysis for environmental applicability reviews.

Manage Environmental Compliance Program budgets and contractors.

Identify opportunities for process improvements in Environmental Compliance programs.

Manage, coordinate, and ensure effectiveness of internal compliance inspections for Environmental, Health, Safety, and Fire Protection programs.

Manage and coordinate EHS professionals on change management projects to ensure any new, altered, or relocated equipment and/or processes are in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal company policies for Environmental, Health, Safety, and Fire Protection programs.

Ensure timely and accurate submission of necessary reports to internal stakeholders, electronic databases and regulatory agencies.

Ensures EHS plans and procedures for environmental compliance programs are up to date and effective.

Develops and performs in-person and online EHS trainings for employees and management focused on environmental programs.

Partners with management to continuously improve the culture, awareness and accountability in support of EHS programs.

Partners with engineers, scientists, and management to support the integration of EHS into the design of new or altered processes and operations and building construction projects.

Interfaces with regulatory representatives, senior management, the site EHS Committee, and the Emergency Response, and Crisis Management teams.

Reviews and interprets existing and proposed environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations to determine applicability and impact for site with a focus on environmental compliance.

Reviews new construction and renovation plans for EHS program applicability and requirements.

Develop compliance strategies for new and existing environmental regulations and/or company policies.

Supports the site's environmental, safety, and fire protection programs.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science degree in environmental science, industrial hygiene, safety, engineering, or a related field, and a minimum of 8 years of experience in EHS field with a focus in environmental compliance; or a Master's degree in environmental science, industrial hygiene, safety, engineering, or a related field, and a minimum of 6 years of experience in EHS field with a focus in environmental compliance.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in leadership or mentoring role managing a team of EHS professionals in the field of EHS.

Experience in performing environmental compliance including air emissions permitting and reporting for a synthetic minor source, NESHAP 6H and 6W program implementation and management, oil pollution source management, UST/ASTs programs, fuel burning sources, industrial wastewater, industrial waste, and stormwater management.

Experience in regulatory applicability reviews for environmental compliance.

Experience in coordinating and performing internal audits and inspections.

Experience in conducting in person training and developing online training for various environmental compliance related topics to various types of audience.

Experience with managing various environmental programs based on the review and interpretation of regulations and standards.

Experience with managing/overseeing third party consultants/contractors.

Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point programs.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance

(U.S. Citizenship required).

Preferred Qualifications:

Master of Science (MS) degree environmental science, in industrial hygiene, safety, engineering, or a related field.

DOT/RCRA Training

Experience with supporting EHS programs for manufacturing operations.

Experience with Dashboard platforms and databases.

Experience with Microsoft SharePoint and Tableau.

Experience in interacting with a union labor workforce.

Salary Range: $123,400.00 - $185,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
