This position can be located in Palmdale, CA, El Segundo, CA, or Rancho Bernardo, CA.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Lead a team of engineers and technicians within a fast paced and challenging environment to perform engineering capture, build, integration, test and maintenance of communications hardware in laboratory and field settings.

Manage cost and schedule as work package manager following EVMS reporting practices

Install communication, test and support equipment in lab and field environments

Perform electrical and mechanical (signal, power & thermal) analysis at the rack level

Generation of engineering drawings in accordance with ASME and IEEE standards, including rack assembly drawings, interconnect wiring diagrams and custom cable assemblies

Analysis of supplier LRUs, including step-file and 3D model review and compliance to environmental specifications

Specification of rack cabling (RF, optical, 1553, power) and cooling systems.

Provide lab and site integration, test, and maintenance support.

Participate in troubleshooting systems to resolve complex issues, interact, and coordinate with responsible communications engineers responsible for sustaining communication sub-systems

Contribute to improvement of processes, design, and future sustainment efforts

The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility (no remote / hybrid / telework available). Travel requirement is dependent on work location:
- Palmdale, CA may require travel up to 25%
- El Segundo, CA or Rancho Bernardo, CA may require travel up to 40%
Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 8 years of related engineering experience; OR Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of related engineering experience; OR Ph.D.. in a STEM discipline and 4 years of related engineering experience.

Experience with project planning, cost, schedule & performance, including earned value and performance measurement baseline concepts

General knowledge of governing and industry standards (such as MIL-STD-1553, MIL-STD-1760, MIL-STD-100G, and ASME Y14.100)

Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs.

Must have ability to visually identify cables and wires by color

Experience leading multi-disciplinary technical teams

Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio

Active in-scope, DoD Top Secret clearance

Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR). An initial SAP/PAR must be obtained prior to commencement of employment and must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs. (Of note: SAP/PAR will be upgraded once selected candidate is in role. Therefore, candidate must also be able to obtain and maintain upgraded SAP/PAR.)

Preferred Qualifications:

Current Special Program Access

Working knowledge of various communication protocols including Ethernet, 1553 bus systems and Fibre Channel

Working knowledge of communication engineering theory and RF systems

Competency with 3D modeling and Creo

Ability to coordinate tasking and manage teams using Jira and Agile project management principles

Salary Range: $137,400.00 - $206,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
