Engineering Technician 2 to provide support to our Armament Systems Business Unit team at our location in Plymouth, MN.

Position Summary:
Work closely with our engineering team in an electronics prototype development laboratory. Support research and development, engineering development and transition-to-production efforts on a wide variety of product types. This position will focus primarily on radio frequency (RF) prototype and development and will provide opportunities to grow and develop into an RF specialist.
Duties include building, testing, and troubleshooting electronic circuit boards; test setups; cables; assemblies; and various assembly and test fixtures, as well as providing telemetry support for field testing.
Provide technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. Gather, maintain, format, compile, and manipulate technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produce engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics). Perform detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as circuit and system performance, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data. Use personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports. May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.
The ideal candidate would demonstrate excellent attention to detail and meticulous record keeping ability, strong computer aptitude and excellent written and oral communication skills. With career progression, the individual would take on more responsibility and complex build and test efforts, document hardware configurations, develop assembly processes and test procedures, and make suggestions to the engineering team for improvements. Must have a strong work ethic and learning attitude, have a safety-oriented mindset, and be a responsible, motivated team player capable of working individually and as a team member in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications:

Associates of Applied Science Degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent field of study
* U.S. Citizenship is required
* Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance after start of employment
* Strong understanding of electronics fundamentals and have basic computer skills.
* Able to read schematics and drawings, follow written and oral instructions, communicate effectively.
* Basic soldering skills and ability to earn IPC J-STD-001 certification with provided training.
* Ability to safely use basic hand tools and shop equipment.
* Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time.
Desired Skills:

Proficiency with electronics fundamentals, testing, and troubleshooting.
* Basic understanding of fundamental RF and microwave concepts and measurement techniques.
* Proficiency in the use of general lab equipment including oscilloscopes, signal generators, analyzers, and various meters.
* Experience soldering surface mount components on electronic assemblies.
* Active DoD Secret Clearance
Salary Range: *$47,600 - $79,400
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
