Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Northrop Grumman is in search of a Engineering Manager 2 to join our team in Rolling Meadows, IL. The qualified applicant will become part of the Northrop Grumman Specialized Tactical Electronic Warfare Systems (STEWS) team, where they will work on a variety of electronic equipment and systems that include airborne RF and IR systems, laboratory test stations, and transportable flight line electronic combat system test sets. The candidate will lead a team of engineers in maintaining and modernizing the supported systems.

Success in this role will reflect extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. System design and engineering development and transition-to-production experience is necessary as this position will require technical leadership and know-how in transitioning engineering development systems to production. Skills and experience in multi-discipline engineering, systems integration and test are essential.
Roles and Responsibilities
Project Leadership experience in scheduling, budgets, product costing, internal and external customer interface, reports and presentations
* Lead a team of 6-10 technical staff in management role. Administrative management responsibilities include staffing, performance and compensation management, and career development.
* Provide technical leadership to the team as they execute their own program roles. Ensure proper engineering processes and procedures are employed.
* Support project/proposal development and substantiation of related contract activities.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Engineering, or related technical field and a minimum of 10 years related experience in electronics engineering or Master of Science degree in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Engineering, plus 7 years of experience.
* Have at least five (5) years of experience with the design, development and test of airborne Electronic Warfare (EW) systems
* Familiarity with RADAR systems, EW systems, and other signal processing systems and methods
* Experience in technical leadership in transitioning engineering development systems to production.
* Demonstrated success leading teams as technical, integrated product team, and/or functional leader
* Minimum 3 years of experience as a first-line engineering team manager including individual goals and performance evaluation(s)
* Experience in multi-discipline engineering, systems integration and test
* Experience in leading hardware, software and/or systems design teams
* Effective verbal and written communication skills and experience presenting complex technical concepts to non-technical personnel
* Must have an Interim Secret Clearance or higher.
* U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Leadership, or equivalent.
* Familiarity with the theory, operation and practice of both airborne and ground-based tactical radars
* Experience with DRFM and/or digital transceiver/processor technologies
* Ability to travel to customer facilities at domestic locations.
* Active Secret Clearance.
Salary Range: $135,800 - $203,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
