As part of the Specialized Warfighter Development Contract (SWDC) the Warfighter Simulations and Services (WSS) team offers opportunities to support the U.S. Missile Defense System through the development of Modeling and Simulation applications used in warfighter training and exercises, concept evaluation, developmental engineering, testing and verification, and assessment. The selected
Systems Engineer/Principal Systems Engineer will support a team of systems engineers, analysts and test engineers to plan, design, develop, test, document, train and integrate simulation products for the Missile Defense Advanced Simulation (MDASim) and Missile Defense Space Warning Tool (MDST) projects. This position is on-site position with no telework option.
Primary responsibilities include developing requirements and associated models, testing new capabilities, documenting new features, and analyzing simulation performance. Additionally, this position will require coordination across operational, simulation and user community to design and deploy new features and enhancements to new and existing applications. Secondary responsibilities will include interfacing with MDASim and MDST customers via event support and training events and presenting technical briefings to stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications (Engineer Systems):

Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, physics, math, computer science or related discipline.
* Minimum of 2 years experience with BS, 0 years with a Masters degree.
* Currently hold an interim Secret Clearance
* Minimum 1 years experience with modeling and simulation in missile defense.
* Experience in agile software development methodologies including Scaled Agile Framework, Scrum or Kanban.
* Experience in developing and maintaining requirements and technical documentation.
* Able to prioritize, execute and delegate tasks in a high-pressure, dynamic environment.
* Must have strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications (Engineer Systems):

Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and MBSE Tools (Cameo)
* Experience in developing tools in Matlab and/or similar analysis software.
* Experience with Microsoft Office, Matlab, UML/SysML, git, Visual Studio, C++/C# and Atlassian Tool Suite.
* Understanding of object oriented software development
* Ability to plan an analysis effort.

Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, physics, math, computer science or related discipline.
* Minimum of 5 years experience with BS, 3 years with a Masters degree.
* Currently hold an interim Secret Clearance
* Minimum 3 years experience with modeling and simulation in missile defense.
* Experience in agile software development methodologies including Scaled Agile Framework, Scrum or Kanban.
* Experience in developing and maintaining requirements and technical documentation.
* Able to prioritize, execute and delegate tasks in a high-pressure, dynamic environment.
* Must have strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications (Principal Engineer Systems):

Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and MBSE Tools (Cameo)
* Experience in developing tools in Matlab and/or similar analysis software.
* Experience in engineering M&S systems using an optimistic and/or conservative discrete event simulation platform.
* Experience with MIL-STD and IEEE specifications.
* Experience with Microsoft Office, Matlab, UML/SysML, git, Visual Studio, C++/C# and Atlassian Tool Suite.
* Understanding of object oriented software development
* Ability to plan and lead an analysis effort.
* Ability to obtain DoD Top Secret Clearance

Salary Range: $81,300 - $121,900
Salary Range 2: $100,300 - $150,500
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
