Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Electronic Technician 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test and Evaluation Organization. This role will be located in San Diego, California.

In this role you will be using detailed engineering drawings to fabricate and repair complex cables and wire harnesses, construct server racks and build various pieces of test equipment. The selected candidate will also implement engineering changes to systems as required and work closely with Engineers to maintain a System Integration Laboratory (SIL) environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Under minimal supervision, performs routine technical functions related to the support of development engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, and assembly of electronics and Electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, prototype models or specialized test equipment.
* Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts, or defined plans to perform routine testing, checkout, troubleshooting, prototype building, environmental testing, and simple developmental engineering tasks.
* Utilizes routine development or diagnostic equipment including oscilloscope, DVM, signal generators and similar test apparatus.
* Normally assigned in area such as development, engineering, test equipment design, or the like.
* Performs routine operational tests and fault isolation on development systems and equipment to ensure conformance with design specifications.

Basic Qualifications:
Must have a High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional education and/or related experience OR associate's degree or technical diploma in Electronics or a related discipline with 4 years related experience
* Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET clearance prior to the commencement of employment.
* Must be proficient using various forms of wire harness fabricating tools
* Must be able to pass in-house solder, cable crimp and harness fabrication classes
* Must be able to read and understand basic avionics or air vehicle wiring schematics
Preferred Qualifications:
Lab environment familiarity to include working with Special Test Equipment (STE), server racks, and various connection types
* Proficient using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital volt meters (DVM), signal generators
* Top Secret Clearance adjudicated within 5 years
Salary Range: $76,800 - $128,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
