Northrop Grumman is looking for a Director of Programs 2 to manage the Guns Operating Unit reporting to the Vice President of the Armament Systems Business Unit (BU), this position is responsible for driving the strategy, growth, and execution for the Guns Operating Unit, and also serves as the Site Lead in Mesa, Arizona.

The role is responsible for a team of program managers who capture and execute multi-million-dollar programs, this position also drives all functions of the business through a matrixed organization including Engineering, Contracts, Operations, Supply Chain, Business Management, and Business Development.
The Guns OU is the home of the Bushmaster Cannon, the worlds most capable, reliable, and precise medium caliber cannon. With an installed base in 66 countries around the world, the majority of the Guns portfolio consists of international customers. In addition, the Bushmaster cannon has been selected for every new US platform program which is driving growth in the domestic market. The cornerstone of the portfolio is execution excellence. Our record of outstanding performance is what drives customer satisfaction and fuels growth. As a result, this OU is the margin driver for the Armament Systems Business Unit, and the Weapons Division.
The successful candidate will:
Lead a diverse team in developing and executing the vision and business strategy to achieve and exceed growth and overall financial objectives.
* Develop trusted partnerships with key domestic and international customers.
* Lead business capture both domestically and internationally.
* Provide site leadership and day to day direction across all functions.
* Provide leadership to resolve complex technical challenges.
* Develop strategies to add and retain current and future key talent.

* Coordinate with the broader Armament Systems Business Unit, Weapon Systems Division, Sector, Company, and industry to identify and leverage existing resources, tools, and practices to address Guns needs.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in engineering, business, or related discipline.
* 10 years of experience in pursuit, capture, design, development, EMD, low-rate initial production and full rate production.
* 10 years of experience managing development and production programs with the United States Government and the International acquisition structure.
* Ability to manage revenue, profit, and cash performance across multiple fixed price programs.
* Ability to operate and lead in team environment, and to teach/mentor others to manage in same way.
* Ability to resolve disputes and negotiate with positive outcome while maintaining good relationships with customers.
* Strong formal and informal communication skills with all levels of internal and external management.
* Ability to make good decisions and exercise appropriate judgment that balances customer and Northrop Grumman needs.
* Ability to plan, follow-up and deliver to commitments.
* Ability to manage risk to reduce likelihood and severity of program impacts, and to capture opportunities to drive profitability.
* Familiarity with all stages of program lifecycle from EMD, LRIP, FRP, and sustainment.
* Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance
* Must be able to travel 25-30% domestic and internationally
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong experience in capturing and managing international programs.
* Familiarity with products produced by the Armament Systems Business Unit.
* Demonstrated background of effective stakeholder/campaigns at the Program Office, Pentagon, and Capitol Hill.
* Active Secret clearance

Salary Range: *$223,300 - $334,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
