Northrop Grumman Mission Systems' (NGMS) Manufacturing Integration and Systems (MI&S) organization has an opening for a Director Manufacturing Systems Engineering 1 to lead the Manufacturing Strategy and Integration Organization. * The organization is looking for a strong leader to create and deploy sector manufacturing strategy for product development, investment, facilities, processes, and skills to accelerate affordable maturation and delivery of our products. The successful candidate will also need to establish and maintain strong relationships with the manufacturing business divisions, functional partners, and corporate and sector partners to foster an in-depth understanding of business requirements and demands to execute the sector strategy and investment plans.

The ideal candidate has depth of knowledge in a range of manufacturing technologies such as, but not limited to: advanced manufacturing, materials and electronics. In addition, they will have ability to develop and deploy a sector level manufacturing strategy that drives differentiated value to NGC programs as a trusted partner through the product lifecycle.
This is an onsite position that will be based out of Linthicum, MD.
What You'll Get to Do:

Drive and scale the manufacturing systems engineering role to accelerate affordable maturation of programs by providing a technical, systems-based Manufacturing voice throughout the capture, product development, and execution process to LRIP / MRL 8.
* Identify and develop next generation manufacturing capabilities in collaboration with ECD, NGMC, Strategic Growth and divisions to ensure execution of the LRSP.
* Manage annual $10M+ NCTA for sector manufacturing technology development.
* Develop/maintain technology roadmaps to drive down cost of RF Test capital, facilities, touch labor, and NRE.
* Develop process for capital prioritization, coordination, and execution with manufacturing operation leads.
* Define and execute business framework for strategic facility planning and execute and communicate governance model.
* Develop and train manufacturing shop floor skills to meet future factory needs as defined by manufacturing site leadership.
* Deploy manufacturing CI framework, training and support to site CI leads in support of meeting sector metric goals.
* Develop and support sector professional manufacturing talent with key sector SMEs.
* Collaborate with the Manufacturing Operations CoE to ensure alignment with the MS Manufacturing Sector.
* Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and 10+ years', Master's Degree and 8+ years', or a PhD and 5+ years of experience of relevant professional experience.
* Depth of knowledge in manufacturing technologies and processes.
* Basic understanding of a range of manufacturing technologies such as, but not limited to: advanced manufacturing, materials and electronics.
* Experience in project and/or program management leading cross functional teams across diverse technical and non-technical teams
* Results-oriented team player, with the ability to handle a rapidly changing set of projects and priorities while maintaining a strong professional presenc
* Demonstrated flexibility and strong judgment/complex critical decision making, and business acumen
* Demonstrated ability leading and shaping a high performing team with specific history of being able to create trusted relationships and an inclusive work environment
* Experience being a Change leader with experience in deploying new technology strategies across large organizations.
* Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communications skills, as well as program management, strategy, analytical, planning, and executive presentation skills are required.
* Ability to travel up to 25%.
* US Citizenship.
* Active Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's or higher degree in Engineering in Manufacturing.
* Understanding of Mission Systems core technologies.
* Systems Engineering experience.
* Industry 4.0 experience.
* DoD experience.
* CAM, Earned Value, cost estimation and analysis experience.
* Top Secret Clearance.
Salary Range: *$207,400 - $311,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
