Northrop Grumman is seeking Mechanical Engineers for an internship opportunity. This position will be located at our Mission Systems Sector in Sykesville, MD.
The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Maritime/Land Sensors and Systems division, Naval Systems business unit, Power and Control Systems organization.
Basic Qualifications
A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and will be enrolled full time in Fall 2025.
Be majoring in or having majored in Mechanical Engineering or a related STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree
Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2025.
* Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
The ability to obtain Special Access Program within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
Preferred Qualifications:
Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher
* CAD experience or coursework (SolidWorks, Siemens NX, etc.)
* Interest in Naval products and maritime technology
* Interest in Power Systems and Control Systems
At Northrop Grumman, our internship pay rates are standardized and take into account three main factors: the anticipated graduation date of the individual, the cost of labor of the geographic location, and whether the internship is considered technical or administrative.
Pay Range:
Bachelor's: $19.50 - $35.75/hour
Master's: $28.00 - $44.00/hour

Salary Range: $20 - $44
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
