WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH
As part of the Converse Technology Operations team and you are part of the Retail Dev Ops squad, a team of 8 DevOps engineers working on both advanced support, SRE and development. You will partner closely with a range of teams, from our Store associates in Europe and in the USA on their more complex issues and fixing bugs, handover to working with our store business and product teams on requirements and prioritization to write design document and code to build new retail and omnichannel capabilities.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer with some retail experience to join our DevOps team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in .NET, SQL Aptos, and GitHub, as well as experience with CI/CD and observability tools like New Relic and Splunk. You will be a leader in our Retail software engineering space, helping to mature our practices and modernize our integrations and software. You will be passionate about bringing innovation, problem solving and be committed to delivering high-quality results.
- The role is for local candidates to our Boston, MA, or Beaverton, OR, office, with the expectation of monthly visits to our Boston HQ for events or meetings.as well as occasional visits to our Boston-area stores as needed.
- If in Nike WHQ Beaverton WHQ area, candidate is expected to visit local Converse stores, retail depot to use test devices

- This role requires a Bachelor's degree or a combination of relevant education, training, and experience
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on .NET and DevOps
- Strong knowledge of retail, store operations as well as Point of Sales systems, ideally Aptos Merch and Sales Audit, PredictSpring
- Basic understanding of hardware and network required to operate a store, ability to trouble shoot issues.
- Experience with CI/CD automation and observability tools like Github actions, Jenkins, New Relic and Splunk
- Experience with IT Service Management, including ServiceNow for incident, problem, change and knowledge management.
- Leadership skills, with the ability to help mature our Retail software engineering space and lead requirement gathering or discovery sessions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders, including store associates and back-end business users.
- Ability to self-manage and work with agile best practices and using Jira, Confluence or similar.
WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON
As a Software Engineer on our DevOps team, you will work on both support and development projects, including L3 support and developing new capabilities for Stores and Omnichannel.
Some of the activities includes:
- Support and maintain existing software applications, including troubleshooting and resolving issues.
- Develop new software applications, features, and modern API integrations, and new omnichannel capabilities using .NET, SQL and Swift and more
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product teams, software vendors and business stakeholders to gather specifications, testing and
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines through Jenkins, Github actions and observability capabilities like New Relic and Splunk
- Help mature our Retail software engineering space, modernizing our integration and practices.
- Work with store associates on the phone to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Participate actively in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and retrospectives.
- Collaborate with other DevOps engineers to share knowledge and best practices.
- Support store peak sales period actively by helping with readiness activities and execution with hands on monitoring and troubleshooting.
