As the Planning, Sr. Manager, you play a critical role in defining, shaping and meeting consumer demand for a portfolio of accounts. You are responsible for defining and leading multi-season sales, receipt, and inventory plans both tops down and bottoms up to serve consumer demand, while adjusting and aligning based on evolving targets. You can build hypotheses and data driven analysis, translate insights into action through problem-solving and critical thinking skills. You possess a deep understanding of the marketplace, product and inventory planning with actions grounded in qualitative research, data, and insights to support your view. You are a great collaborator who proactively builds positive relationships across the organization. Using your strong financial and commercial acuity, you show good judgment in making decisions and problem solving.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
As the Planning Sr. Manager, you play the role of player coach while driving onboarding, training and providing regular collaborative feedback for your direct reports across MFP and assortment planning. You will be involved in strategic projects and business process improvements, championing efficient and consistent ways of working. You will serve as the merchandise financial planning manager for key areas/fields of play in the NA Marketplace, working cross-functionally to forecast consumer demand, plan optimal supply, and meet financial expectations. You will set tops-down plans for key business dimensions across both Gross-to-Net and Stock & Sales that balance consumer demand, business strategies, and align with the Consumer Architecture. You will foster collaboration among MFP and assortment planning to ensure consistency of information, share standard methodologies, and drive new system implementation and adoption. You will work with your team to elevate key themes and stories and present them in a succinct manner to drive your business forward. You will be responsible for providing leadership communication relevant to your teams areas of business, summarizing key findings and recommendations. You will help identify meaningful opportunities for growth within your portfolio and collaborate with cross functional peers to drive actions within your team to bring those opportunities to life.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You will work both within the Nike DSM function and across the broader cross-functional organization including partnering closely with both internal and external partners, Consumer MFP, MPO, Finance, and others to deliver top-down financial business targets both pre-season and in-season. Your focus is to understand and share trade-off actions that ultimately drive consumer demand, improve Nike margin, and optimize inventory health.
WHAT YOU BRING
- 5+ years' experience in retail, planning and/or product management
- People & team management experience preferred
- Strong ability to influence & work constructively with others by communicating effectively. Listens actively and contributes to advance the conversation.
- Outstanding written/verbal communication, analytical capabilities, and attention to detail
- Strong command of Retail metrics including Retail Sales, ST%, WOS, Inventories (marketplace + DC), Revenue and Margin with the ability to manipulate data for efficient outcome
- In-depth knowledge of consumers, competitors, and retail trends; knowledge of sports apparel and footwear market preferred.
- Ability to resolve conflict and manage multiple priorities
- Demonstrated experience influencing people and teams
- Ability to build strong working relationships with teammates and cross functional partners
- High level of proficiency of MS office, including Excel and PowerPoint
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and minimum of 6 years directly relevant work experience Note: One of the following alternatives may be accepted: PhD or Law + 3 yrs; Masters + 4 yrs; Associates degree + 6 yrs; High School + 7 yrs
