SPECIAL PROJECTS LEAD, JORDAN DESIGN OPS

WHQ, Beaverton, OR

WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

The Special Projects Lead, Jordan Design Ops, will report directly to the Senior Director, Design Operations, and will partner extensively with the AP Product Operations team on a day-to-day basis. They will be an integral part of the Jordan design operations team, working with design directors, and designers, product management partners, development partners, and the entire global Jordan operations team.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The special projects lead in design operations will be the operational connective hub between various design functions, along with apparel and footwear product partners. They'll drive clarity and efficiency, manage multiple project/product workstreams, and manage calendars and competing priorities. Their operational thought leadership will foster a collaborative space and provide clarity with world class communications between teams and roles, so all are enabled to meet shared goals.

The successful candidate will also ensure we have the right tools and resources to enable an impactful design team. With multiple seasonal workstreams overlapping simultaneously, they are capable of focusing upstream, on longer term planning, while actively problem-solving tactical issues in the day-to-day.

This role is best suited for a self-starter with great organizational and exceptional communication skills, who is comfortable navigating ambiguity to build complex processes in a fast-paced environment. The dedication to develop trusted working relationships across teams and levels, to lead with confidence and conviction, and to respect and listen to the expertise and voices surrounding you to objectively drive conversations forward, will be critical to their success.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2+ years of experience in Creative, Design, and/or Brand Marketing Operations
  • Consistent record and comfort in leading, planning, organizing, prioritizing and implementing simultaneous creative projects and activities across various teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others in a matrix environment and develop consensus within diverse groups and with people at all levels within the organization
  • The perspective to understand the role that Design Operations can play to fuel the design studio
  • Ability to problem solve and focus on both the big picture and the details
  • Proficiency in building collaborative calendars and processes, with experience in Miro, Smartsheets, Air Table and/or other project management software tools.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON

This is a unique operations opportunity within both Jordan Footwear and Apparel, spanning our product offerings across Sport and Streetwear styles and models.

You will manage several project calendars; leading process creation and optimization for design-owned workstreams, while partnering closely with the product management team to deliver against product timelines.

On any given day, you will conduct workshops or meetings to gather insights and help define clear expectations, tools, and processes that drive creative collaboration across product, color, graphics, and materials design teams.

You will connect directly with design teams to encourage creative collaboration, while ensuring designers have the right tools at the right time, and understand what designers need to work more efficiently and effectively.
